I worked at Rubicon Project full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    • Great benefits - free lunch everyday, free coffee & snacks and beer fridge • Fun place for young tech professionals - work hard & play hard spirit • Growing company and promising industry

    Cons

    • It is easily to get stuck what you do everyday and not much growing opportunities are given. • Segregation among departments - people don't know other people from different departments. • It depends on your departments, but sometimes you are expected to work on weekends and lots of overtime

I worked at Rubicon Project full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Used to have a great culture and fun after hours activities - Free lunch - Solid benefits and Perks - Good group of people

    Cons

    - Company has fallen behind in the Industry.... Being late at adapting header bidding has just thrown these guys off course so bad it's remarkable - Essentially blew $122 Million on Acquiring Chango. May as well have flushed the 100 mill down the drain.... Crushing, company destroying move - Laid off a lot of people... Some more qualified than others that still remain on board.

I worked at Rubicon Project for more than a year

    Pros

-the people in the Toronto office are all awesome, young, smart -free lunches, unlimited snacks and beer fridge -Mac laptops -great location

    Cons

-senior leadership is a revolving door of people who have no clue -0 chance of career growth -company is so disorganized and fragmented; good luck trying to get a hold of someone who doesn't work on your product -you're just a number, HR/management doesn't care about you or your career growth -no diversity in leadership (all old white males) -so many internal politics that nothing gets done -no innovation; still trying to figure out why they acquired Chango and Shiny Ads -they would rather layoff valuable people and keep useless ones just because they have been at the company longer -the only people that get promoted are sales people -CEO so far removed from the business; after the acquisition of Chango he didn't even visit the office (nor did he ever) -over 30 people in the Toronto office have either quit or gotten laid off since January and they haven't hired any replacements...the writing is on the wall

I have been working at Rubicon Project full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Lots of smart, motivated, friendly people in the company - Salaries and perks (free lunch, unlimited time off, gym allowance, etc.) are quite generous - Offices are well-equipped

    Cons

    - Senior leadership often seems to disregard important issues like hiring, budgeting, and employee satisfaction - Toronto office feels very disconnected from the rest of the company which primarily operates out of Los Angeles - Cross-company requests are very slow-moving and often need to go through a multitude of management approvals, etc. - Company-wide goals and priorities are often convoluted or change part way through a quarter or year; direction seems like it could shift at any moment depending on what the market is asking for

I worked at Rubicon Project full-time

    Pros

    - Smart people. Free lunches. Growing revenues as of lately. - Relaxed office culture

    Cons

    - Overseas team is lackluster and sometimes difficult to work with - Using new technologies and going out of your way to improve things is often seen as a waste of time - Zero recognition for anything you do. I automated tons of processes and improve things people wanted all the time but nobody cared. - A culture of doubt rather than trust. - Request to switch roles constantly ignored.

I have been working at Rubicon Project full-time

    Pros

    - good co-workers - free lunches and snacks - good benefits

    Cons

In the last 13 months after the new CEO and management team were put in, the stock price has dropped by 70%, revenues dropped by about 50%, there was layoff of about 25% (all public info). The broader ad tech industry will continue to have challenges, especially since the decision to remove buyer fees will continue to cause price pressure across the industry, which makes things risky
