I have been working at Ritz-Carlton part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They took care of me when I decided to go back to school full-time. Where I worked had the people in positions of power that empowered us, and for that I am very thankful.

    Cons

Banquet cooks work hard and long hours, but you do get overtime for it. Sometimes it's a lot of work for not a lot of people, but that's the nature of the beast.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits here are really good and the hourly is fair. Kitchens and other facilities are extremely clean. This is an industry that promotes from within based on merit and hard work rather than educational background/qualifications.

    Cons

Standard cons of working in guest services: holidays/evenings often required, hours can be cut depending on business, and of course industry is heavily affected when people stop traveling in economic downturns.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Steady hours, 401k and health benefits, high standards of professionalism and good conduct

    Cons

Little regard for work life balance of employees working in food & beverage despite constant talk of how well the company supports and cares for employees; very little pay for the amount of experience needed or for the level of work being done; very little opportunity for growth or promotions from within especially compared to other Marriott and RC properties
