A poorly managed news organization in its death throes

    Pros

    There's something different every day.

    Cons

No raises, bleak outlook for business, constant threat of layoffs, nothing but contraction as a business, no plan to adapt to current realities, owned by a company little better than a hedge fund, likely to be taken over by a hedgefund.

    Pros

Great way to get hard journalism experience

    Cons

Too many editors who aren't good managers, top people have their preferred reporters and will ignore all others, not a great place for women to excel

    Smooth On-Boarding

    Pros

On-Boarding process was a breeze, I was able to start immediately and hit the ground running. Kevena was great at answering any and all questions as soon as they were asked, and was very friendly during the interview process. It made me feel more relaxed at each interview, as if she had everything taken care of. Working Downtown in an industry that moves so quickly, it is great having a strong HR department just one floor above me!

    Cons

The online training process takes awhile, but is worth it in the end.

    Pros

“I like the autonomy I have at the Richmond Times-Dispatch because it allows me to be all of me in my work and this enables me to have the freedom be innovative and creative with my clients and with internal ideas for the organization at large."

    Cons

The company hasn't embraced telecommuting and work space could use a more modern look.
