    Easy Surfin' Career Hurtin

    Pros

    * Great perks. Great culture. Great office * Amazing work life balance. * Awesome equipment to get your work done * Everyone is super friendly and helpful * Career growth can be fast if you know how to put yourself on the spotlight * Flexible work hours and easy going work environment * Great vacation policy

    Cons

    * NOT a meritocracy. Random engineers get promoted for soft skills rather than their accomplishments as a software engineer * Work is uninteresting for the most part. Haven't launched a single successful product in forever. Celebrates irrelevant things which are obviously not successful. Mostly pat on their own backs. * Depressing outlook for the future of the company. If you wanna go somewhere in your career, go somewhere else. * Leadership is uninspiring and mostly here to live a comfortable life, not here to innovate and move the ship forward

    Software Engineer II

    Pros

An amazing chance to work with people who care about the company and care about you as an individual. If you make an effort to drive your personal growth you will be given plenty of opportunities.

    Cons

Individual responsibilities can sometimes be ambiguous - if you need to strong direction of what your work load will be from day to day and do not have strong initiative you may feel a bit lost.

Great co-workers, management needs to focus

    Pros

You will be working with some of the smartest people in the Austin tech space. Love the office space and flexbility of work. I work in a pretty great team, my manager lets me make the decisions on all the projects that I work on. Also free lunch.

    Cons

Some of the upper management have not delivered in the past two years. That is showing in the stock. If they could set aside their differences and focus on what's important instead of padding their job title, the company would do much better. The outlook on this company doesn't look great but if they continue to keep the smart people, sky is the limit.

    Honest-To-God Love this Company

    Pros

We're an _____ stack company, which means we're not afraid to use the new cool thing (or the old standard) so long as it's the best choice for the problem being solved. We're an incredibly transparent company (I regularly text our CEO on his personal number with tough questions about the business). First and foremost though, the people: we've got a team of brilliant, inspired people with a fantastic internal social scene that is actively working to avoid a brogrammer or fraternity tech company culture.

    Cons

We're slow to innovate and we outsource way too much of our design. This is changing due to business pressures, but the company is only just waking up from having been lulled to sleep by our initial explosive growth.
