I have been working at RBC full-time

    Pros

Work life balance - in general, there are loads of projects and work to keep one busy. However, opportunities like work from home or modified work hours are great perks. Benefits - from health and dental to retail deals (banking and general retailers)

    Cons

workload is heavy - one needs to be good at balancing competing priorities in order to succeed

I have been working at RBC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

nice working vibe and environment, great work life balance, co workers are friendly and helpful, salary is reasonable plus bonus as well. Peak time is based on financial statement delivery cycle, e.g semi-annual/ annual/quarter. Therefore, no busy time (no overtime) for month end like other departments do.

    Cons

not much room for growth/ advancement, the position above senior is manager, and there are not many internal postings from other departments. Health benefits not the greatest but better than nothing.

I worked at RBC for less than a year

    Pros

This review is specific to the Global Asset Management (GAM) line at RBC. As such a huge company, experiences as a co-op are very dependent on your manager and department. Great work life balance when compared to other areas in banking (e.g. capital markets, back office). Friendly environment where management was talkative and approachable with students. Opportunity to showcase skills and speak up were encouraged.

    Cons

Co-op salary was quite restricted. Expect to be offered similar to other financial institutions.
