I have been working at Q4 full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great company culture - Support for professional growth - Good perks (unlimited PTO, health benefits, group RRSP, and the list goes on) - Autonomy and trust to enable people to contribute to success, not just another cog

    Cons

    - Boarding the limit of too much, too fast, but I see this as a "pro" too. I appreciate the high energy, it keeps work interesting. - Missing the in-person world, the pre-covid state of catching up in the kitchen getting a coffee or snack.

    I worked at Q4 full-time

    Pros

    - People & Culture team do try really hard to keep employees happy during WFH (lots of company swag, UberEats vouchers, virtual activities) - Unlimited vacation (only matters if you're allowed to use it)

    Cons

    - Huge turnover rate. - A lot of managers are poorly trained and don't know how to take care of their team properly. - Support team (arguably the backbone of the company) are treated like they don't matter and often dismissed and undervalued by everyone else. Also get paid the least in the entire company. - Everyone is extremely burnt out and overworked - many teams have been expected to work evenings and weekends. Senior management doesn't care. - CTO is known for breathing down people's necks and making everyone's lives miserable. Very demanding, gets angry easily, and he is the reason many have quit. - 5+ people from Product Management have been fired or quit in the last several weeks. The only ones left haven't been at the company for more than 2 months. - Very hard to get promoted unless you overwork yourself for years and years, or suck up to leadership who like to play favourites. - Unless you're a manager, base pay is very low compared to market value.

I have been working at Q4 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you want to work with really great people Q4 is the place for you. Great place especially if you're newer to the fintech scene (like myself), great managers and coworkers.

    Cons

Processes and hiring enough staff. Many issues related to staffing currently. Not enough people to do the job effectively.

I have been working at Q4 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

After seeing a few poor reviews, I wanted to share my experience. This is a fast-growing company (very fast) and like many companies, the pandemic has led to some changes at the strategy level - which has ultimately resulted in further success. In today's world, working at a company that is thriving in today's economy is huge, but it's not the only pro: -Super approachable leadership team (especially CEO) -All employees work hard (you'd be hard-pressed to find a weak link) -Opportunity for advancement -Employee recognition programs

    Cons

-The onboarding process isn't great, but it's being improved as the team learns. -Being an entirely remote workforce has presented challenges -- but hopefully, that will change with the vaccine. -There are still some pay inequities, but that's everywhere

I worked at Q4 full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Some people are genius (although their titles often do not reflect that, see cons) - Collaborative culture of a fast-paced startup - There are several strong managers (if you're lucky enough to be in those teams) - Good People and Culture team: team activities, uber eats vouchers, diversity workshops, trivia nights, etc - Good socials

    Cons

    - Most people are terribly overworked. Seeing half the company active on Slack at 11 pm is not an unusual thing. Q4 calls it "growing pains" but the reality is, they have many west-coast clients that are being served by the east-coast team. Some managers do encourage their people to stop working at 5 but with the amount of work you're expected to do, it's simply impossible. - Zero loyalty to employees. You can spend 7+ years with this company and be fired in a hot second just because a newly hired manager said so. Many employees feel extremely unsafe. Very high churn rate. - Favoritism is a thing at Q4 when it comes to promotions. - Low pay compared to market value. Two people doing the exact same job can have 10-15K difference in salaries. - A significant number of clients have insane requests and expect you to work around the clock. Q4 won't blame you for not responding to them at night, but you will be expected to work late nights if that's what it takes to get the job done. Many employees do not know what it's like to close their laptop at 5 or even at 6. Makes it really difficult to have a life outside of work. - Employees are not being asked to review their managers' performance.

I have been working at Q4 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work life balance is great, managers are always taking care of your mental health and try to improve everyday work.

    Cons

Using old technology, not after couple months you know a vast majority of the tools and how to use them efficiently, after that you stop learning, as the problems you encounter are repetitive.
