I worked at Progressive Insurance full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company pays well, great benefits, interview process was easy.

    Cons

The training takes a total of 12 weeks, with taking live calls during some of those weeks. A lot to learn in order to navigate the system. You will have to switch shifts every year or as they said bid on a new shift. This could be positive or negative depending on the hours you need.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company itself is great. Benefits and culture are excellent.

    Cons

Workload is absolutely impossible. Everyone is miserable, falling behind, and beyond stressed. It's deeply unhealthy.

I worked at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay is above par, the benefits are great, and the gain share at the end of the year is the icing on the PRG cake... the company is all about inclusiveness and the flexibility they have with scheduling options is beyond impeccable.

    Cons

Working from home can get rough at times, my supervisor wasn’t very warm or approachable. I personally think he was put in that position hastily as he is not a people person and that is something you need to be when your whole team is virtual. If it wasn’t from the lack of support from him I would probably still be there.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits and good salary. Plus you can work from home eventually. Training program is good also.

    Cons

Not very many cons. Love working here.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company great benefits Gain share bonuses nice

    Cons

Poor management, they put people in management who have no idea what their doing and if you try to move to a different position they will stop you. There is no work life balance. If you get assigned to work a Saturday you will never get off of it and Saturdays are extremely understaffed

"Too much repetition, micro-managing, does not force one to think at work."

I have been working at Progressive Insurance

    Pros

Great benefits, great PTO as well as personal day allowances.

    Cons

Same conversation every 20 minutes for 8 hours a day with people that are ready to argue a non negotiable price. Management claims position is “not scripted” but you are disciplined for not following verbatim scripts on each call. Honestly very typical call center, one of the better ones I worked for just got burnt out on the phones. Job was not for me.

I worked at Progressive Insurance for more than 10 years

    Pros

I have been both a contractor and full time employee there. Pay was great. Benefits too. This is a diverse company in the traditional sense.

    Cons

Age discrimination is occurring in some areas but folks don’t talk about it. Their code of ethics apparently applies to some and not others. One low level manager misled me into believing the duration of a contract was December rather than June. I found out almost by accident at what is traditionally a bad time of year in the market. I submitted a 30 day notice immediately to remove myself from a dishonest situation and hoping to salvage part of the year to find other employment. I ended up being unemployed for about 3 months. The excuses/rationalization given by the manager were obtuse in the most extreme sense and most offensive way.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a whole, the company has an excellent corporate structure and provides great benefits and bonuses.

    Cons

Extremely poor local management. Management picks favorites and has no empathy for stressful nature of job. No HR present in office or state to express concerns to.
