    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Progress Energy Canada full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and rrsp matching

    Cons

Management is out to save their own necks, and will throw people under the bus when required. Toxic environment, high stress. Having an opinion is definitely not recommended. The only reason some people have remained is because the industry is in shambles.

I worked at Progress Energy Canada full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Compensation, Benefits - they are decent!

    Cons

Horrible horrible culture. They are firing people left right and center that have been with the company for 10+ years, just because they don't want them around anymore. They make cut throat business decisions and its showing the instability in employees morale. I was so unhappy there. Toxic people. Toxic environment. I went home every day and was so nervous and uncomfortable to come to work. I know I am an exceptional employee and moving companies was the best decision I ever made. I had PTSD after I left, I had to talk to my new manager about how my old manager treated me. HR was the worst at this company. A huge massive group that has nothing to show for what they do. Do not work here!

I worked at Progress Energy Canada for less than a year

    Pros

Could not see any pros with this company. At least with being a consultant, I could preview the company.

    Cons

Bullies in management! Why do companies keep hiring these low self esteemed people in supervisory and management positions?
