I worked at Pret A Manger full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The food is good, by that time employees were able to eat for free during their work hours, and get paid for their breaks

    Cons

if you agreed to work full time flexible hours you are condemned to pret to become the center of your life, you will not have time for anything else. In my opinion, this kind of job should be temporary because you are studying, or because you work on a personal project and you need a job like pret to get by. They are obsessed to make you feel that you have to work hard up until the point you have they feel that you work hard enough to break your back. Some managers just like to do simple things in the most complex manner to make the work difficult for you. There are a lot of non sense "standards" you have to obey. if you work there without having in mind what to do with your free time you are dead. You will literally waste your life sweeping and mopping. if you have to work in there because you dont have any other option, do it but always have a plan to get as soon as possible from there

I worked at Pret A Manger full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

room for growth, the possibility of weekly bonus, good hourly pay

    Cons

I've worked in several stores and unfortunately, the rules are not the same under every manager, there is clear favoritism, people are overworked and taken advantage of.

I worked at Pret A Manger part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Generous food and drink allowance - Contracted hours/not zero-hour contract - High standards and clean shops - Interesting customers - Paid for socials/meals - Nice co-workers and enjoyable teamworking - Progressive company image and good quality, tasty food - Even though the shop culture is sometimes bad, I would probably still recommend it over other hospitality chains I've worked for

    Cons

    - Terrible GM and area management culture - bullying, threatening, yelling, cursing at employees who are literally just trying their best - Expected to come into work unless seriously physically sick (i.e. vomiting) - Managers don't understand mental health which has been apparent from conversations with my co-workers; demotivating to see team members you care about upset about this and not listened to - Staffing issues/high employee turnover in my shop meant that workload was ridiculous leading to current employees frequently cutting corners - After having worked in 2 different shops there were major differences and it became apparent how much higher the workload was in the other store , although I witnessed GMs bullying and threatening staff in both stores

    I worked at Pret A Manger full-time

    Pros

Hard working team mates who become friends

    Cons

I gave 1 star just because some of my teammates were really nice and I'm still friends with some of them or I would give 0. This company doesn't care about your well being. If they could squeeze the life out of you they would and the money is not worth the hassle. Prepare to have you’re every move shadowed by the insecure unprofessional management. If you’re manager says something to you and you respond with anything other than yes it will be deemed a problem and get ready for disciplinary. Don’t bother applying, you life and time is worth more than pret.
