I worked at Plan International Canada full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The moral value, really passionate people and formidable achievements/milestones

    Cons

Management is always taking advantage of said passion no matter the department; people who might ask for fair compensation, credit, and little else in return for the heartfelt work they do day in and out. Lots of brilliant people that aren't recognized because of terrible, incompetent management that set you up for failure rather than success. Often cant practice what is preached. Heaps of segregation, passive aggressive bullying and divisive scheming that only gets you ahead if you're jiving with the right people, authentically or not. Very corporate for a nonprofit, with little payoff other than moral value...
