If you want variety in your career and end up a multi millionaire, this is it. Comp and bennies are excellent and if the workload wasn’t ridiculous, I’d stay forever.

Cons

Finance upper management are old school and tow the line hard, it’s comical how autocratic the organization is run. The town halls are like state run TV. There’s plenty of talk about embracing change and work life balance, but this isn’t the reality with people who actually perform the work. Covid response was ridiculous, back in the office asap and complete lack of trust in employees to work from home. in massive IT systems updates along with your day job and a finance wide reorganization, it’s stressful and that’s why attrition has been running hot. Do they actually make changes or bring in experienced hires to help? No, the people left take on the work while middle management take their twice daily half hour walks and then go on vacation.

Pros

Great people, managers are hit and miss but mine have always been great, awesome benefits, and they are starting to get more flexible with work/life balance.

Cons

Top level management doesn't care about individuals at all. They try to put some shiny fluff on things but in the end it's all about the bottom line. People are getting less afraid of speaking up but this is an old company and change is slow or non-existent. The trade-off is the benefits are awesome. They even still do pensions. Starting pay is good but there's no real career paths. Goal setting is a joke. Everyone just does their jobs and takes care of each other at the employee level, then has to spend a week proving that they met or exceeded expectations to fight over a tiny bonus that nobody really cares about.
