I have been working at Pentland Brands full-time

    Pros

Great discount / sales. Lovely offices.

    Cons

Badly managed. Promote work/life balance is unrealistic due to large workload and tight targets. No dismissal for bad workers who hold back team

    Advice to Management

Promote the hard works and get rid of the people who are taking advantage of your inability to let bad workers go

    Pros

Great facilities for staff, pool, gym and a canteen with discounts on own brand products. Nice building by a lake.

    Cons

Finchley is a little out of the way. Has a tube station nearby but if your not coming from central London it can take a while to get too.

    Advice to Management

New talent is always good but don't lose all your knowledge.

I have been working at Pentland Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people and working environment
Good facilities including a Gym and Canteen
    Generous discount

    Cons

    Not in Central London
Poor pay compared to the rest of the industry
Lack of internal hiring for new jobs. Limiting development opportunities.
Poor consistency across management, so one team may have better opportunities (e.g. off-site activities) than another within the same department.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people and give them the opportunity to push themselves.

I worked at Pentland Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, less work structure if you are "in"

    Cons

Everything else. They are not consistent. Will change rules depending on employee.

    Advice to Management

Not a stable work enviroment. They ask for a level of professionalism they dont provide themselves. Low level of confidentiality in human resource management. Management will discuss an employee right near the employee. Activities meant to unite are usually popularity contests. Employment based on popularity not work knowledge or ethic. Management less knowledgeble than lower tier employees in general across all teams. Not a culturally diverse company. Overtly rude to employees not in the "inner circle". Company instabilty making for a cut throat work culture. Steer clear of this company.

    Pros

Varied work due to multiple brands. Fantastic working environment with a good work life mix. Superb facilities for after & during work.

    Cons

A little bit out of the way so if need to go out at lunch Finchley a little limited for shopping etc.

    Advice to Management

Keep the friendly atmosphere going and the family values as this makes people feel wanted. Keep up the practise of staying on top of modern technologies.

I have been working at Pentland Brands full-time

    Pros

Its been in a state of transformation for a while, however its easy to see the improvements over the last 5-6 months especially in pace, vision and understanding. IT especially has become more agile and has a better understanding of the business needs and this in turn is strengthening relationships.
People are being treated as adults and being given a stake in forming the future of the department.

Still a family feel across the business with easy access to senior managers and communication a priority.

    Cons

    Decision making process still painful.

    Advice to Management

Keep going, but please make the decisions you need to make quicker.

An inexperienced leadership team at Executive and Senior Management level that lacks accountability. Decisions are slow and when they do happen they are not thought out. Self congratulating.
