      Great culture and team

      Pros

Great overall organizational culture, especially refreshing since my previous employer was very very toxic. However, this will depend on your team greatly. Managers and Directors are very supportive on your personal career growth. They do not micromanage and trust that you're doing your job. You can tell management is very grateful for the work and contribution you do based on how they speak with the team and/or other team members. Great work/life balance. Practically zero over-time, and sufficient days off (in addition to company holidays) for rest.

      Cons

Benefits are pretty standard and nothing special. RRSP matching suspension during COVID while reporting profits, although this may be resumed soon.

      A mess

      Pros

Its a fun company, fun coworkers, tries to act big so they have a fun environment. Work life balance

      Cons

It is slow, confused, silod, political, and innovation shunting. Want you to be DevOps / SRE / Ops in one role but will not pay you accordignly. The salary is horrible the mgmt does not care about you and you will be cut off if they chose to. The CEO sees employees as ants.

      Finance department

      Pros

Nice people, treat you with respect. Buildings are nice, good cafeteria offering variety of food at decent prices, free Starbucks coffee, teas, kombucha. Company is always acquiring companies and restructuring which means it is a very fast pace environment, you learn a lot of things every day, which at times could also be frustrating. Due to the size of the company your responsibilities are concentrated in only one small area, but there are opportunities to move and growth. Benefits are average of a big corporation, however, education assistance and wellness benefits has been the same amounts for the past 6+ years.

      Cons

No training, basically you sit down and start asking co-workers how to do things, but managers expect you to deliver things on-time. The number of Directors had increased but not staff, too many executives with no knowledge of the area causing additional work or non-value added tasks to their staff. Salary is way below market, benefits are not great, work-life balance was good but not so much right now.

      Pros

      - Good work/life balance; most engineers work decent hours and are not worked tirelessly. - Work is nice and slow. - Company values employees.

      Cons

      - Technology can be a bit boring. - Some skills learned aren't particularly transferrable to other companies (i.e. OpenScript proprietary programming language).

      Pros

Relatively good work life balance. Friendly environment and supportive culture.

      Cons

There is room for improvement in the compensation department. Doesn't hurt to earn slightly more given that there is no growth prospects here.

      Terrible Executive leadership

Aug 29, 2018 - Engineering Middle Management in Toronto, ON

      Pros

Co-workers are very helpful and getting assistance from other teams is very good. After all we are all on the same sinking ship. Work life balance is not bad, this very much depends on who your immediate supervisor is.

      Cons

Where do I start? Compensation is ok, but don't expect a raise. You will be lucky to get 1% over 3 years. All compensation reviews are done on a bell curve and if you are middle management you will be forced to fit your team into that curve. No matter how productive they are. Executive team tells the staff of 11,000+ one thing, HR tells you it's happening, but in reality it's not. The town halls only serve to placate the masses, not to actually change anything. VP level and up are not at all engaged in what is happening below them. They just don't care beyond getting their own bonuses and stock options. New technology direction every year even though the previous years "success" is just smoke and mirrors. Pandered to the Gartner's of the world to inflate the stock value. The real revenue comes through constant acquisition, sucking up any cash reserves, laying off most of the staff and surfing on the maintenance revenue until the acquired company shrivels up and dies. Internal processes (workflows, approvals, etc.) are a nightmare. Most of it is broken, untested and appears to be put together by disparate teams of business analysts with too much work to do and too little experience. Most staff are just here to make a paycheck.
