      Pros

OTPP has the opportunity for a new employee to learn.

      Cons

There is always improvement space, so I believe OTPP is a good fit

Great pay, great location, slow-moving, meh culture

      Pros

As an intern the pay is fantastic. Both internships at OTPP (different teams) I was treated as a member of the team, both my managers were fantastic people as well. I learnt a LOT during my time there, about how business works in a large corporation.

      Cons

Things are very slow to change and evolve. Work from home wasn't really an option until COVID. Oftentimes I had TOO much free time and not enough work, it became horribly boring during those days. The majority of folks working at OTPP are much older and so the culture is not ideal for a younger person.

      Pros

Opportunities to grow and network with senior management as an intern. Competitive pay. They take very good care of their interns.

      Cons

No cons for working at OTPP as an intern.

Good Company with Strong Exit Opportunities

      Pros

Get to work on live projects if your team has them during your co-op

      Cons

OTPP has strong exit opportunities for co-ops outside of OTPP but it is not clear how to start and advance your career at OTPP if you wish to return.

OTPP is a great place to work

      Pros

Strong brand, and well-deserved excellent reputation globally. Great people and new offices in London and Hong Kong that have a lot of potential.

      Cons

There are no real cons at OTPP. It is a best in class organization. Good management and operations. They need to continue moving forward with great work on diversity. They do a really good job for pensioners and service to members is always very good and rates as number one compared to their peers in the market.

      Pros

      - Great people at OTPP - Very smart leadership team - Tons of opportunity to shine (if you work really hard) - Recognition and rewards for those who earn it - Good salaries and bonus, great pension

      Cons

      - Turned into "big bank" culture in last few years - Really long hours, very high expectations of all staff - Too much work, not enough staff to manage work load

      Pros

OTPP has some great, talented employees. Lots of interesting problems to solve. Good benefits and defined benefit pension

      Cons

New senior executives have significantly changed the culture over the past year+. Less focus on IT. More CYA.

      Great co-op program

      Pros

At OTPP, the interns are treated like full timers. We are provided appropriate training and have a variety of projects to work on, that are used by a large amount of people in the company.

      Cons

Could organize more intern events, as there are a large amount of interns every term, but this is a criticism only to the co-op program at OTPP, not the company as a whole.

Cut-throat environment and going down hill every day

      Pros

I didn't experience any pros at this organization. It's unfortunate but it matches management and the culture.

      Cons

The people, the culture, everything. People managers don't manage, they instil fear in their staff and make them feel inferior. The culture is toxic and contagious; I had the misfortune of seeing it first hand how people change due to title changes or salary increases. It's sickening! If you're a young, ambitious person fresh out of school...RUN the other way. OTPP is a place where you go to spend your final years in the workforce. The idea of moving up within the company is just that, an IDEA.

      Bad Experience

      Pros

Very few pros to be found almost routinely wanted to leave at the end of the week.

      Cons

Very lonely existence at OTPP. Found many of the staff were dissatisfied with their work. Very quite offices, many had earphones in, little in terms of talk. Supervisor was very bigoted and bullied almost everyone he could, for a young guy he was very pushy and dismissive of most people.
