I have been working at Nutanix full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The ESPP stock purchase program is great, salaries seem to be above average, and the other benefits are fantastic. I don't miss the lunch perks, those were always nominal to me. And I like leadership in general.

    Cons

I reported it to HR when a manager on my team started speculating that a teammate was suffering from various mental health conditions that he didn't like. There was no evidence of this by the way, the person was just a slow worker. HR initially was really responsive and got on a call with me and assured me that they don't tolerate that kind of behavior, but the resolution of the call was that they deemed no corporate policy was violated. Literally this was a manager going around telling other employees that so and so must be bipolar or autistic. It was so ableist and unbelievable, and also not anything borne out by the persons behavior. Anyway, all said and done HR told me there was no corporate policy violation by them doing that. I asked "Wait a minute, so if my boss gets annoyed with me one day he can go around telling random people that maybe I'm bipolar or autistic, and the company has no issue with that?" and was told basically, yes. It would be laughable if it weren't so wildly unprofessional. I wish I were more surprised, but this seems rampant in my chain of command. A manager above mine in our first meeting told this random protracted story about booth babes in vegas where every single person in the store was introduced by their sexual orientation (I can't make this up.) Sadly, I thought that my group was an anomaly with a few bad apples but based on the response to a recent HR complaint I'm reevaluating that opinion. I would not advise anyone to work here who isn't comfortable with the possibility that your boss can speculate about your mental health to random other people with no repercussions. I really feel for the person on my team this actually happened to, it didn't even affect me directly, but it was just so wrong that I couldn't not say something. My opinion of the company has drastically changed based on the handling of that incident.

We appreciate your thoughtful review. A few things come to mind based on what you shared. First, modular upgrades is something we have been working on. We will be rolling it out soon. I agree that hybrid cloud capabilities are important. We have talked publicly about our Clusters project, which is one part of our strategy. Look for more updates soon at .NEXT. Last, we’re spending more time than ever in interlocks between the field and product management. The field is absolutely one of the most important inputs into product prioritization. Thanks for being a part of the team for the last 5 years and for sharing your feedback. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you'd like to talk more. Rajiv Rajiv Mirani Chief Technical Officer
