I have been working at Novo Nordisk full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance and benefits. Great company events. New office in the Oct 2017 promises to have cafe and gym onsite.

    Cons

Company policies vary by manager. Lots of micromanagement stemming from a very political environment. Managers are able and do hold back great employees from moving to advanced roles they are offered to keep competent employees helping them shine rather than letting them grow and develop elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Managers should not have an option to hold employees back from internal moves (it just makes them move externally). Company policies need to be clear and applied equally.

    Pros

decent pay, few employees are very nice.

    Cons

It is really sad to see that if one is liked by management, the perks are endless!! and if you are not, then you are treated as a nobody and they do not hide that! Too much politics.

I worked at Novo Nordisk full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Organization is generous to employees.

    Cons

    Not good at profiling managers.

    Advice to Management

Be a foster of knowledge and growth to those you manage. Unfortunately my last manager was not managerial material.

I worked at Novo Nordisk full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Exceptional focus on work life balance. Company does good... its products save lives! Very supportive and enlightened management program, lots of opportunities to learn and grow. Travel is there if desired. Good support for training and tools.

    Cons

Despite great training program, promotion to senior management (beyond team leader) is not at all transparent and often seems to be due to political games. Different pay structure for product supply (manufacturing) compared to same level/responsibility in corporate. PS is paid less for same work (with arguably more responsibility). As company is getting larger and larger, bureaucracy is increasing. A lot of dead wood is hiding in corporate... collecting a paycheck and not doing anything that contributes to the company.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent about roles, promotions and criteria to succeed. End the "poker clubs" where VPs promote buddies and give at roles by a tap on the shoulder and behind closed door agreements. Why send people on expensive management courses if you have no intention of using them as managers?
