I have been working at NaviNet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pretty relaxed and casual atmosphere at work, but people get the job done. Once a year we take off 3 days to come up with a proof of concept or working code for some innovation in the product, this year at least one of the 30 or so projects the employees dreamed up got funded! A great CEO now after a long string of so-so's.

    Cons

Company has gone through a couple downsizings/reorganizations and then a restructuring that forced us to sell our stock options. But the company did turn a corner with all that. Quite a lot of legacy code still hanging around.

    Advice to Management

How about stock options for other than the top executives?

    I worked at NaviNet

    Pros

    - Great benefits, perks (pizza fridays, beer fridays, company outings, cupcakes, messages) - Surrounded by awesome, smart people. - Start up like culture - Location

    Cons

    - Okay salary - Depending on what department you are in this may differ greatly but work/life balance can be non-existent - Rushing to push out products leading to continuous late nights. - Too much time spent on legacy code

    Advice to Management

Provide more training across the board, especially for the non-technical folk.

I have been working at NaviNet for less than a year

    Pros

I may not be the best judge since I only worked a short contract there. The pay was excellent with flexible working hours and a very knowledgeable staff. The company is changing it's business model and seems to have a good plan for the future. Lots of perks like free pizza and beer Fridays.

    Cons

They are changing their business model which means some people may be stuck supporting dead end legacy code until it is finally retired.

    Advice to Management

    none

I have been working at NaviNet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great flexible and comfortable work environment. Very intelligent and personable engineers that I enjoy working with. Great leadership at the very top. The company is now designing software and working with technologies that you want to be working on.

    Cons

Fixing legacy code can be challenging/frustrating but management is supportive and knows it is a problem. Rube Goldberg would be proud of some of the processes that have been put into place in the past.

    Advice to Management

Naming standards are not more important than functionality. Security is often put into place that makes it incredibly hard to get anything tested and deployed, and the process around getting access makes a day at the Registry of Motor Vehicles look fun and efficient.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at NaviNet for more than a year

    Pros

    - Opportunity to learn and use a variety of technologies - Teamwork, with good communication between teams and managers - Good social events (including pizza Friday every day) - Strives to follow best standards in projects

    Cons

    - Can involve working with difficult legacy code - Finding documentation and information on certain old parts of th system can be difficult, leading to guesswork and trial error

I have been working at NaviNet for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great exposure to various technologies - Good work culture using Lean/Kanban - The dress code is casual - There is great mid-level management

    Cons

    - Requires a large skillset to be maintained - Some meetings are unnecessary - There is still a dependency on older, legacy code

    Advice to Management

Lean and Kanban should be adopted in Boston, like Belfast. This improves all aspects of the company, producing what the stakeholders want and on time.
