    I worked at Nando's UK part-time

    Pros

    - Fun, friendly, and youthful atmosphere amongst staff
    - The tips went towards "Nando's Family" days out, which helped boost morale. These were days given off to everyone in the store to hang out i.e we went bowling, had a BBQ etc. (other Nando's store staff cover the restaurant)
    - Even if you're under 21, you earn the minimum wage of a 21 year old
    - You get free chicken

    Cons

    - Other restaurants tip better as you don't take orders at the table, so it's not as personable
    - I experienced some rota issues with the person in charge of organising it, but nothing that couldn't be sorted out

    Advice to Management

    More chicken.

I have been working at Nando's UK full-time

    Pros

Nando's is a place where you can be your true self where there is no pretence or typical corporate aliases. It's a company with a heart and true sense of purpose far beyond balance sheets. It's fun, vibrant and yes we do work hard. Ever striving to do better for the right reasons. Free lunches, team trips, conferences.

    Cons

There are no cons in my opinion

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to voices of your teams

I worked at Nando's UK part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Free Nando's on shifts worked for or over 4hrs
    - 40% discount Mon-Thurs and 20% Fri-Sun
    - Free refillable drinks on shift (or a hot drink)
    - Great staff parties
    - Friendly atmosphere and everyone got along in my branch
    - Flexible hours, you can choose the days you can and can't work and your preferred hours

    Cons

    - As it was a centrally based Nando's, if you finish work after midnight (which sadly was often the case) you would struggle to get home in reasonable time, as the tube isn't working anymore
    - Closings always took longer than stated on the rota, usually due to being understaffed or customers not leaving promptly
    - When you stayed longer than time stated on the rota when closing, very rarely you'd be paid the extra time that you spent there. I think I only got it paid twice, and I stayed late every single close. But if you were 5 minutes late you'd get death stares
    - No sick pay

    Advice to Management

    - Hire enough staff so the floor isn't constantly struggling
    - Pay your staff until the exact minute they work
    - Listen to your staff and try to work with them, maybe then the turnover wouldn't be so high

I worked at Nando's UK full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Fun
    Free Food/Chicken
    Even better Quinoa
    Weekly pay
    Good management programmes
    Great training
Quirky approach varied at each store
    They actually Care ; )

    Cons

The amount of food that is thrown away at night! Really upset me, (I me and my friend used to take some to the homeless guys round the leisure park)
And they should have better toilets than weather spoons by now, Come on.
Thats it...I love them Peri much!

    Advice to Management

I think mobile phones are becoming more of a issue in work places to be fair. People work hard as chefs etc and you see more and more people on their phones in restaurants in general.
