Apr 12, 2023 - Correction Officer in Rikers IslandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
No real pros. Even the 100k top pay after 5.5 years isn’t worth the hassle anymore due to the insane cost of living in NYC. You might find some good co-workers embracing the suck with you but that’s all you can hope for.
Cons
Terrible pay, poor leadership in key positions (there are some good leaders but the bad heavily outweigh the good), inmates run the island, officers have little to zero support.
