The worst paid unit in the police. Expected to act like police officers with minimal training, minimal worker compensation and if you do it wrong trust me you will be punished. Go and work in government admin, pays better and safer.

Solid training, great esprit de corps and general culture

Considering the amount of vetting and responsibility you hold, there's no way the organisation can justify such low incomes for their staff. The skills you arrive with and are trained on, as well as the times you have to work -- not to mention the types of interactions you have (000 calls; always going to be challenging), mean they need to look after their people.

Unfortunately the inflexibility and being stuck in the past. The organisation has not adapted to flexible work and favouritism all through the organisation. No career development, unless you are a detective or mates with the boss. The organisation places too much emphasis on detectives being the only staff worthy of promotion.
