I worked at Mountain Park Health Center

    Pros

Good training, three weeks of training like if you were in school. Great community based healthcenter.

    Cons

Low pay, not flexible with schedule to continue education. They do not care if you are certified.

I worked at Mountain Park Health Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay, incentives and benefits, great coworkers, company contributes to the community. Newer facilities make for a pleasant work environment.

    Cons

Out of touch management with little to no flexibility. Not many opportunities for upward movement. High turnover due to poor choices by management.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to hire, train and retain decent middle management. Look at trends and listen to your employees rather than take a hands off approach

I have been working at Mountain Park Health Center full-time

    Pros

Great clinical staff that truly cares about the health and welfare of the community. A wonderful place for people to get healthcare from people that are committed to quality care

    Cons

Corporate is out of control and more concerned with the title they want than what goes on in the clinics. High level positions are given to people that are grossly unqualified to hold management positions. As an FQHC they have failed to set or maintain standards for compliance or quality measures as required to maintain FQHC guidelines. Any attempt by any employees to voice concerns is met with immediate and severe...

    Advice to Management

Stop saying one thing and doing the complete opposite. People worry every day if they are going to be in fear of loosing their jobs because someone started a personal campaign against them. Treat people with some respect and quit hiring under qualified management that hinders the good employees from doing their jobs.

I worked at Mountain Park Health Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is for growth, your lateral coworkers are a great bunch of people to be around all day, many different committees to join outside of your daily job duties, flexible work schedule at the corporate office, salary was competitive for a non profit.

    Cons

There is a huge disconnect with upper management. They claim they want to know you at the personal level and come around to your desk once a week asking questions and pretending to be interested, but it's pretty easy to see through.

    Advice to Management

Believe in your employees more. Be more direct when asking and answering questions. Add some culture to the corporate office. Gray boring cubicles make people not want to spend their time there.

"Overworked, underpaid & disappointed, more urgent care for chronic disease than primary care."

I have been working at Mountain Park Health Center full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing learning about how to provide urgent care & primary care to very complex, underserved patients. Good PTO & total benefits package with 5 weeks + 1 for CME & $1,000. When you have good patients, they are very grateful. Autonomy---an NP doesn't feel like a "mid-level" here.

    Cons

Scheduling---no control of your own patients, high no show rate & walk-ins mean that you rarely see your own patients & things are almost always behind. Frustrating. Big organization---It feels like you're just a number, so lots of organizational communication problems, very little individual accountability & no ability to negotiate for better compensation. Poor morale---burnout & turnover are high for both MAs & providers....

    Advice to Management

It doesn't have to be this bad---value your employees the way the mission values patients, take concerns seriously by fixing the issues & create a culture of stable employees instead of stable level of burnout.

I worked at Mountain Park Health Center full-time

    Pros

Great team members in the clinics as well as the corporate iffice.

    Cons

High turnover. If funding doesn't come through or you outshine upper management you are gone instantly. Management is a clique and the COO and HR are a complete joke. They play business. If you suggest something to improve things they "find something you did" and you are terminated. Few last more than a year. We went through so many restructuring of management in the short time I was there that you didn't know who you...

    Advice to Management

Get out of your office and know your business. Stop being intimidated by smart people. Everyone has a talent and they can all be used together. Eliminate the constant fear of termination in your employees. Hire a COO that know Operations, treats his/her staff well, is fair, genuine, and not intimidated by people.with more Operations experience than he/she. HR needs to gain integrity and replace current leadership in that...
