      Pros

      - private reputable Canadian company - established (in business for 60+ years) - moving towards being more flexible and progressive with IT & HR practices - fair total rewards package: salaries, bonus program, medical benefits and pension - lots of opportunities for advance, and special consideration given to internal employees over external candidates - manageable work-life balance - emphasis on employees wellness, happiness and development - through employee engagement surveys, extensive training and development courses programs and leadership opportunities, as well as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - considerable focus on sustainability and philanthropy. Charitable giving is shared by example at the shareholder level, and employees are encouraged to participate through company-led initiatives and on through own through paid volunteer leave - fun inclusive culture - a place where I look forward to continuing to grow professionally

      Cons

      - some people at Minto are resistant to progress through change - sometimes Minto still thinks and act (evident in some processes) still like a small company, instead of the mid-sized growing company that we are - some decisions still require far too many approvals; empower managers to lead and make decisions

      Pros

      - Work-Life Balance (nobody expects you to work on weekends, although you may have to in certain circumstances which is fine) - Exposure to all facets of real estate (development, asset management, property management, etc.) as well as asset classes (residential, commercial, etc.)

      Cons

      - Management team lacks ability to take (calculated) risks which results in missed opportunities - Management team has a few odd characters that make decisions that quite often leave people dumbfounded - Corporate Culture is basically non-existent - group dynamics dominate the overall corporate culture which results in the company running as separate silos (no information sharing between operating groups, secrecy, miscommunications, red-tape, etc.) - Runs on SAP - the company loves to talk about how this as a good thing but in reality it is a cumbersome ERP/CRM tool and a misfit for the company - Marketing team is asleep at the wheel - Corporate Head Office is tired and needs updating - Bonus structure is misguided

      Pros

-work-life balance -office is on the subway line -decent benefits & pension plan -compensation isn't bad

      Cons

-lack of growth & development opportunities within -a lot of back scratching amongst executive teams -mad men mentality; women who dress scantily clad and bat their eyelashes, get attention from the big boys -often fail to invest in professionals to do specialty work i.e. using an internal resource to determine the proper way to restructure (who is rather unskilled to do so), is ridiculous -HR is the most useless resource of all time
