I have been working at MindGeek full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Easy job, all API and framework based. - Work/Life Balance is phenomenal, no one expects you to do work after 4. - Very chill environment and very cool people. Lax. - Insane job security, the market will never die. - Free breakfast, 500$ Gym, 2000$ credit on courses (all tax deductions for the company so it's not like it's out of their pockets)

    Cons

    - Garbage raises, barely above inflation rate and low salaries. Probably the lowest I've ever seen for such a lucrative company. - No Christmas Bonuses, they organize some insignificant Christmas party instead where the best you can get as a "prize" is a cheap 400$ TV (1 for the whole company tombola btw). Engineering Christmas bonuses are 3000$+. They're doing this to cheap out. - This is not a job for people with high drive, HUGE turnover, everyone worth a anything quits. This is why most people are very young. It's a place to get some experience and quit afterwards. - No RRSP. The CEO is so cheap he stopped doing LIVE questions because he couldn't answer the lack of RRSP. Kind of repulsive considering all he opens his mouth about is how much money they made while he parks his lambo right next to the office. - Initiative is punishable. Doing more work than expected will not be rewarded, they'll just put more on your shoulders and pay you the same. Do the least amount of work possible. It's extremely hard to get fired and you won't get a good raise anyways.

    I worked at MindGeek full-time

    Pros

Breakfast, Foosball tables, state-of-the-art facilities, benefits after 3 months

    Cons

Nepotism, promotions based on seniority and not based on merit, high school bullying mentality, poor management, no one to turn to in cases of harassment or problems with your manager, HR is unapproachable and doesn't offer employees the ability to come to them with issues. Basically think of it like high school, the bullies are in charge and the nerds do all the work. There's no pension plans or RRSPs, super low salary, all the big bosses are driving ferraris and mazzaratis and the rest can barely make rent. Don't get side-tracked by the perks, the company is run by greedy idiots.

I worked at MindGeek full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The only reason to work in that company is the average working people that dont hold any position. Very chill atmosphere, casual and fun people to work with. Sadly this does not translate in upper management. Also the 7 hour work schedule.

    Cons

Where do i start.. 1)Very low salary compared to other IT companies. 2)Varying salary with a "do not disclose your salary to other employees" clause in your contract. This allows the company to have an X position getting paid 1200 eu(gross) and another SAME X position, getting paid 1500 eu (gross). This creates a huge gap and essentially demotivates employees as soon as they found out that they are underpaid at a job with the same responsibilities and title as others. 3)At the rare occasion they promote someone is when they get an offer from another company, albeit most of the times they either dont bother with a counter offer(despite years of working for them) or they make a counter offer out of formality(thats a very, VERY, rare occasion ZERO chance of growth since most positions are dominated by key players all relayed to each other, nepotism comes to mind, and employees wait in line for ages to get a substantial raise, or promotion 4)Upper management treats employees like numbers and they dont value feedback from exit interviews(if they bother to make an exit interview) and current employees. 5)Strong micromanagement from the Montreal office to the rest of the global offices affecting seniors and leads and crippling them in making their job, forcing their procedures 6)ZERO appreciation for overtimes, work from home in crazy hours if needed, and going out of your way as an employee to put in more work. With zero appreciation its redundant to state that there is no overtime money or bonuses attached. 7)They cultivate a fearmongering culture and they fire employees WITHOUT warning regardless of years of service. 8)Lastly, fake promises of promotions and raises to employees to keep them working and stay motivated but as i previously mentioned all that is, is smoke and mirrors.
