    I worked at Metroland Media Group part-time

    Pros

    -Employer was nice
    -Good way to meet neighbours

    Cons

    -Minimal pay (I did a small route but at one point I was getting paid $4 a week)

    Pros

    Not many these days due to industry being akin to a melting iceberg. A far cry from the good old days.

    Cons

    Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Moral is terrible due to continuous staff reductions and uncertainty of the business. Especially on the print media side.

    Advice to Management

    Need to treat employees with respect. Also get rid of the old dinosaurs in the company. Especially those in editorial management.

    sales is always a very up and won career with many hight s but also some lows which you have to work thru

    Always be positive with your sales staff. as they say , you catch more bees with honey.

    Variety of products to sell.

    Cons

    Newspaper industry declining rapidly and management team has no idea of how to recover.

    Advice to Management

    Management is out of touch and has unrealistic expectations of staff. They need to hear what customers are saying.

    - Management stayed informed about my opinion on my onboarding experience with weekly and monthly check-ins
    - Very friendly office culture

    - Some procedures that are given have been instructed vaguely
    - Worked extra hours on projects that had upcoming deadlines when they could have been handled sooner

    - Keep the work culture friendly
    - Keep weekly and monthly check-ins
    - Do provide more guidance for assignments
    - Do keep on a tighter track with projects and their deadlines

    Newspaper industry is struggling, constant restructuring of the organization. Company needs to invest in more digital and social media content

    Every employee aims to ensure client success and build strong business and personal relationships with clients
    Management is understanding and approachable
    Competitive salary, benefits and vacation time starts at 3 weeks
    Laid back environment where employees are able to work at their own pace

    Cons

    Little room for growth
    outdated office space
    Sales team hours are not 9-5, overtime is required to be successful
    Company is vast with offices everywhere so communication between offices could use improvement
