    Pros

Local and originally felt like a great place to work.

    Cons

Need to work overtime consistently due to dated systems. Empty promises made during employee engagement activities. Further quality of life improvements (up to date technology, streamlined systems) all shelved while taking on more work.

I have been working at MedAvante full-time

    Pros

Salary and benefits are very generous

    Cons

MedAvante (-ProPhase) is a picture of two companies: pre-acquisition by WCG and post-acquisition. Pre-acquisition was stressful, disorganized and lacked direction. Post acquisition, it is still stressful but has now also taken on a very heavy "corporate" feel that lacks compassion. They have brought in a brand new executive team and they are often heartless and self-serving. Everything revolves around Project Management and all of the departments behind the scenes are under resourced and overworked despite being essential to the success of the company. The employees in these departments often feel "abused" but work extremely hard and give their all to the jobs despite feeling unappreciated and undervalued. There is little sense of this being a cross-functional matrix organization.

I worked at MedAvante full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Science and a few client delivery stars that are not ego based. I don’t have much nice to say about 80 percent of the people there. Only shining star is in Europe and should seek more.

    Cons

Horrible people managers and egos that are just punitive and narrow minded. Last time I checked people who degrade other people and their knowledge are limited in life, relations and ability to gain trust of new customers,

    Advice to Management

Kick out legacy they are snots nasty and short sighted. Never been so disappointed in a company’s management.

I have been working at MedAvante full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

MedAvante began a tremendous growth surge in the fall of 2014 behind the launch of Virgil. The growth has been extreme over the last 3 years. Growth creates stress but it also creates a lot of career opportunities. Further the growth and influence of MedAvante allow us to recruit higher quality talent. We definitely need more resources to keep up with the growht.

    Cons

After MedAvante was acquired a new CEO was installed. The new CEO needs time to prove himself but so far his skills seem limited to operations and project management. He doesn't seem to bring a strategic vision or any sense of people leadership. So far people are taking a wait and see approach but seem underwhelmed.

    Advice to Management

What is the strategic vision? Also, the new CEO needs to get out and talk more to people at all levels - he needs to show he cares what each person is doing and whether each person has the resources to keep up with the work.

I have been working at MedAvante full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Tremendous team spirit and the ability to make a significant contribution to helping people. This company is changing the way clinical trials are run by improving the quality of outcome data and the reliability of results. It's a privilege to be a part of that and helping to find effective treatments for diseases that affect so many people around the world.

    Cons

Fast growth requires the ability to stay focused and carry a heavy load, which can be difficult for some.

    Advice to Management

Do everything you can to preserve the culture and mutual respect that have allowed the company to grow to this amazing point. If you can do that nothing will stand in your way.
