    Pros

    Great opportunities for advancement and learning. Challenging yet supportive work environment. There is a strong sense of community and inclusiveness at McGill.

    Cons

    There are often office politics that may be hindering. Bureaucracy and red tape may over complicate things. But there has been improvement.

    You get to hang out in the lab everyday, sometimes busy and sometimes had nothing to do.

    Cons

    Depending on the lab, it could be absolutely filthy in there.

    Pros

    Excellent colleagues, opportunity to work with bright students

    Cons

    Little to no institutional support for research, heavy administrative burden, heavy bureaucracy that makes the small things difficult and major issues next to impossible to resolve, poor pay relative to U15 schools in Canada.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the professors and staff - they are the reason for the institution!
