I have been working at Matt & Nat full-time

    Pros

    Metro pass paid for.
Able to make good money from commission in stores.

    Cons

A company that does not live up to it's "values". A lot of propaganda.
Many sketchy things happening behind the scenes. This company is the farthest thing from being ethical and cruelty free.

    Head Office:
    1. Culture is manipulative and toxic. Constant back stabbing and an "everyone for themselves" mentality.
    2. No structure and organization, employees are forced into doing tasks they were not hired for.
    3. High turnover, employees are dropping like flies. When someone leaves, the position's responsibilities are forced on another staff member instead of someone being hired to replace.
    4. Staff is FORCED to take their lunch break from 12:30-1:30, no exceptions.
    5. Employee purchases and discounts are only allowed at the end of each month, that is if upper management feels like allowing it.
    6. Not unionized anymore.

    Stores:
    1. Employees are overworked, lied to and taken advantage of.
    2. High turnover and staff is led to believe they are disposable.
    3. Forced to lie to customers about the product. No proper product knowledge training and a huge disconnect between the stores and head office.
    4. Store employees aren't listened to by head office.
    5. Long hours and overtime are expected.

The product is low quality, faulty and toxic to the environment. Not everything is entirely vegan (ie. the glue used on the product).

    Advice to Management

    1. This company needs to be investigated, and shut down.

    2. Or...gut the entire company and re-evaluate your values and business model before the majority of your customers wake up and realize the truth.

    3. Trust the people you hire, let the qualified ones do what they were hired to do.
They are not pawns to carry out upper management's wishes. Why staff the stores and head office if they aren't allowed to think for themselves and offer solutions to reoccurring problems?

    4. Invest in your staff, avoid understaffing, pay them an equal wage, offer monthly feedback to help improve efficiency and skills. It takes more than a monthly potluck and a "holiday party" to keep your employees happy.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Matt & Nat part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Used to be a great environment to work at. Then new management all around was hired and everything went down the drain.

    Cons

Don't value their employees. They do not look at the work you've put into the company even after working there for so long and only focus on small negatives. Suddenly everybody gets reprimanded for small mistakes severely. There is clear favouritism within the company as well. Sudden rules and regulations blindside employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the opinions of your employees. They ask you what you want to see and completely do the opposite.

I have been working at Matt & Nat full-time

    Pros

    Great Benefits
    Friendly Co-workers
    Beautiful Office
A lot of perks such as croissants, fruits, coffee, cocktail hour every friday!
One of the less cliquey offices you would find in this industry

    Cons

Work life can get very demanding but that comes down to your own time management.
Some peeople who work here (very few) focus more on gossip than work and try to poison peoples minds but you have to keep your eyes on the prize - your career.

    Advice to Management

Conduct meetings on a regular basis to keep the communication going and get rid of any misunderstandings others may have created.
