I worked at Marks & Spencer full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great staff and very friendly shop floor. Discounts.

    Cons

Management from bottom to top, becuase of all the internal promotions, the people who got promoted were the ones looking to stab others in the back, thus, you got no loyalty from middle managment. The biggest joke was the graduate managers, no clue how to do the job, no interpersonal skills, genrally hopless. Then upper management, awful ideas, awful planning, no connection to shop floor. It is no wonder this company is on its knees. Also pay is terrible but then thats retail.

I worked at Marks & Spencer part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working for M&S you are part of a great team and have excellent training.

    Cons

Occasionally the temporary staff that would be brought in over the Christmas period would not work very well, meaning that in order to complete the day's stock, the long term staff would have to work extra hard to compensate. Also, the attitude of some of the customers is (very occasionally) very rude/obnoxious.

I have been working at Marks & Spencer part-time

    Pros

Coworkers are great to work with. Pay is good and extra pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

    Cons

Late shifts every weekend as a part time worker, managers often don't communicate with each other and you suffer as a result. Little flexibility with change of hours at weekends and holidays like Christmas. Complete double standard with older staff as they do little to no work and get away with murder and younger hardworking staff often overlooked.
