I have been working at Maple Leaf Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Plenty of overtime available.
Generally good management who listen to line workers.
Room for growth to a certain extent.
    Unionized environment protects workers.

    Cons

Staff shortage is not addressed in a timely enough manner during busy season, where production is at its highest. This puts more stress on current employees and results in more people looking for work elsewhere.

Union sometimes used to protect lazy/vindictive employees.

    Advice to Management

An attendance incentive to reward your employees that are there on the front lines day in and day out and show the less attendance focused employees what they're missing out on by not being there. Would help a lot with turnover in all areas of the plant.
