    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at MBS Textbook Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Several shifts to choose from

    Cons

    Low pay
    Minimal upward mobility
    Non advocating management
    Dirty

    Advice to Management

Exemplary employees need more recognition, in the form of financial benefits. There were several outstanding employees who were rarely even given verbal recognition.
Bonuses outside of scheduled reviews need to be in place for those going above and beyond.

Backstabbing and lying errorgant management- seniority or experience means nothing! No raises for years while upper management gets raises and new cars- the Book industry is dead so you have NO future- Google Barnes and Noble to discover more- it’s just another greedy corporate empire that’s all about them and not you at All!

    Advice to Management

You will burn in hell for your greedy ways!!

I worked at MBS Textbook Exchange (More than 5 years)

    Pros

MBS provides adequate training and everyone is really good to work with.

    Cons

Can take a couple weeks or more for expense reimbursals

    Advice to Management

Providing a better understanding of the chain of command will allow part timers to know who to call if their immediate supervisor cannot be reached and there is a need for a fast answer.

    Pros

Flexible with daily challenges. You can grow and develop your own team. Working with different cultures.

    Cons

Workload, issues out of our control, unrealistic expectations at times, poor communication

    Advice to Management

Promote those who really work hard not just who is your friend. Get rid of those who are lazy and no longer meeting expectations. Pay those who work the hardest the highest.

I worked at MBS Textbook Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Low responsibility, average benefits, low expectations.

    Cons

Not the place for someone who wants to accomplish things in life. Terrible pay, little room for advancement. They hire not the best people but people who they believe will stay there the longest to avoid training. You work here to make the top dogs richer, not to help the world in any other way. Plus, the industry is dying.

    Advice to Management

Get managers who can recognize talent, hire talent, stoke that talent instead of letting it die.

This was an excellent company to work for as an intern. I gained valuable experience and worked along side helpful and experienced professionals.

    Cons

The working conditions were not ideal. Very few windows.
