I am in need of some advice I have a bachelors in healthcare administration. My long term goal would be a CEO of a hospital. I am looking at masters programs and need some advice as what to get my masters in. I could get my masters in healthcare administration but would like to look at something a little different maybe healthcare leadership or something. Anyone have some advice?

      Pros

The benefits are pretty good and everyone is pretty relaxed

      Cons

There’s definitely not enough employee appreciation which is why I think there’s a big turnover rate

      Pros

Remote, decent pay, few good team members

      Cons

Management SUCKS! Treated like children with bolded emails and exclamation points everywhere. PTO next to impossible to get approved and its only approved in 3 month intervals, a month before. After the merge of MacNeal and Loyola, MacNeal workers treated differently. Necessary information from mngmt is so delayed and needs constant reminders for final confirmations. Call to you computer, to make sure one is working, is so stressful, coders have the app on their phone and take it to to bathroom to not miss a call, as it is demanded we answer these calls always?! 3 hospitals, supposed to have same rules across the board; they don't.. and regarding accounts, mngmt should handle policies and have all equal.. nope. And, often, they dont even know the different rules to try to fix. It is remote position, but they changed everyone's hours without choice. Lunch and breaks required to be same every day. There are NO possibilities to switch shift/days. Every year, after audit, coders are told they will be getting education packets, etc.. to help in weaker areas, etc.. NEVER happened, not once. There is such little opportunity for education with Loyola. Minimal in Healthstream. Im struggling to get enough CEU's since merging with Loyola. Other companies have educational teams, numerous webinars, cross training.. not here.

      Cons

You only get 3 weeks pto which includes sick days, this is not enough.

      Pros

Good coworkers here and there. cheap parking but the slot you get is at the end of the world.

      Cons

HORRIBLE upper management. Controlling and abusing the techs in the labs. Very demanding and unsupportive and unreasonable style of managing that is pushing people out. Diane Mika has made everything worse and pushed so many of us in the team to leave. The whole dynamic and team morale is down. Do not work for her!!! NO GROWTH, FAVORITISM LEFT AND RIGHT. As in, only promoting who she likes and who she wants to oversee managing even (Which also shows the lack of diversity and inclusion by always hiring/promoting white female managers. If they are under qualified. Earning making profit and meeting budget is their main priority. Never have they made the employees feel important or prioritized. Medical Benefits suck as well. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU HERE and I Cannot wait to leave!

      Bad Management

      Pros

There are no pros working here. All the good employees already left.

      Cons

Toxic work environment, poor communication from upper management. Turnover rate is really bad because no one can work in these conditions. There are little to no raises no matter how well you perform. Steer clear from this place.

Good people/hospital leadership, poor pay, negative Trinity Health involvement

      Jun 30, 2022 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

Good people, solid mission, and real belief from employees in Loyola's mission. Great leadership from hospital and system leaders, like Shawn Vincent and Tad Gomez, that helped keep Loyola strong during the COVID-19 pandemic.

      Cons

Limited staff appointments (even pre-pandemic), poor pay and benefits from HR (even pre-pandemic), unrealistic expectations/goals from Trinity Health imposed on Loyola, limited to no room for growth (depending on department), and poor involvement from Trinity that negatively impacts Loyola and a lack of understanding from Trinity on what makes Loyola successful.
