I have been working at Lordco Auto Parts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy the people that I work with- they are friendly, helpful and create a positive and safe work environment. There is a lot of room to grow, and the benefits are fantastic. I get good hours, lots of opportunity for overtime, and scheduling is very flexible. Lordco also throws great work parties. My hard work gets recognized through my reviews.

    Cons

Aspects of communication could use improvement

    Advice to Management

Ensure every employee gets proper training

    Cons

Pay rate for how hard you work doesn't always seem to be fair

I worked at Lordco Auto Parts full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Abundance, variety & availability of products to provide to customers. Sales contests galore. Decent benefit package. Lavish Christmas parties with gifts from Coates family. Properly managed store is a pleasure to be at as an employee or a customer.

    Cons

Management issues at individual stores. Major micro management, communication issues. Break labor laws when they jeopardize profits. Employees lose jobs if they show resistance or report. Employees working full time hours but listed as parttime in 2 separate positions, to avoid paying benefits. Corporate & Regional management wearing blinders to stay blissfully unaware of glaring failures all around. Lose good talented employees regularly.

    Advice to Management

Corporatate look at the stores that are having high turn over in staff. Ask yourself Why? Ask the Manager why? Really listen to the answer.

    Management
    lack of appropriate training

    Advice to Management

I could write a novel about the many shortcomings of the management in this company. There is no structure whatsoever. They will hire basically anyone and i've personally witnessed countless people that come and go.

    Pros

Hard work advances you quickly, Family run business. The family and company has been great to work with. I had an accident a few years ago and the owner (Ed Coates) gave me another person to train and drive me around so I could keep my sales territory. The company gives great Christmas parties and trips for their staff. Awesome benefits and busy company.

    Cons

None....The company is one of the better ones out there....

    Advice to Management

Work on customer service at sales counter.

I have been working at Lordco Auto Parts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good healthcare benefits, nothing else great about working for Lordco

    Cons

Extremely low workplace moral, complete lack of proper management from the top on down to the bottom. Very poor customer service provided by some co-workers, and absolutely no discipline from management.

    Advice to Management

Try and receive some proper managerial skills, rid the workplace of the irresponsible workers, and do something about customer complaints.

    Pros

Like my co-workers, like our customers. I do a wide range of jobs, so it's something different every day.

    Cons

Very high school mentality. Mediocrity is rewarded, hard work is punished/taken advantage of. Lots of things are promised, very few delivered upon. Would not recommend as a long term job.

    Advice to Management

Keep your promises to your staff. Get rid of the useless employees and help the good ones grow into higher roles.
