Pros
It's a paradise for musicians & music lovers. Very helpful & considerate colleagues, supervisors & manager. Amazing benefits and a balanced work environment. A good place to learn a lot of things and harness your soft skills.
Cons
No Cons all Pros for L&McQd
- Former Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Great deals and discounts on gear, and easy going work environment usually. The company doesn't pressure you to sell things or force sales on anyone which is good, although they do favour sales people who are more successful selling.
Cons
Weird dress code that makes no sense for a music store, and the pay isn't very good. It's retail, but in order to sell the types of products (oftentimes high end or expensive instruments), an employee has to inherently be well versed with many different instruments. I feel as though they should be paying $16-17/ hr base for this knowledge, and not paying someone minimum wage to sell a $5K instrument for example.

Felt like there wasn't a long way to go career-wise. Difficult as an artist to work close with the arts but without the flexibility to pursue.
- Current Employee★★★★★

- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
- Great work environment - Great co-workers - Full time hours - Good training
Cons
- Nothing that I can remember
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Easy fun job, good team and positive work environment if you are lucky enough to land a position at a location that is well managed. Some company perks & basic benefits for full time employees.
Cons
The opposite of the above. The company and management depending on location is far to tolerant toward lazy, tardy employees who lack good work ethic and consideration to fellow employees that ultimately create a negative work environment for others. Also...management seems to only pick those they like for advancement and not employees who necessarily reliable, hard working, dedicated and show initiative.

Pros
Great store management and friendly work environment. Offers flexible schedules and low-stress.
Cons
Limited career opportunities for those looking to move into managerial roles.
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
A great training program Lots of opportunity for advancement since company is growing so fast Amazing culture Fun working environment A retail company that you can really make a career out of
Cons
Nothing out of the obvious - need to be comfortable working retail hours and working with customers
