I have been working at London Drugs part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fairly decent discount. 20% off regular priced and clearance items.

    Cons

There are numerous sales/return policies in place, but there is ZERO backup from management when you try and enforce those rules. Customer brings an item to return that is not returnable? Management will make you return it, causing massive losses to stores bottom line. Shift selection is bad, you don't really get to pick, they just give you what they want. They will ask for more availability than you are able to give. Pay is very low, considering the new minimum wage. Wage scale hardly keeps up with inflation. Been with the company nearly 5 years now and only make 61 cents over the starting wage. Head office is very disconnected with store level issues, ask us to exceed goals that are simply impossible in certain locations. Marketing is terrible, basically non-existent for the RTG/TECH departments.

I worked at London Drugs part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked here for a little over 6 months. The team is lovely and care for each other. Bright and positive environment. Many loyal customers who will come back time and again. Professional attire, which brings helps foster professional image and behavior. Many managers have worked at LD a long time and are patient with you. They stock cool and different products. Nice discounts for employee. Different courses to help professional development.

    Cons

The technology of the store system is quite antiquated and slow.

I worked at London Drugs part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very light workload in comparison to competitors (Shoppers Drug Mart, department stores, etc) Happened to have an amazing team that worked together. Loss prevention team was the best I've worked with. Reasonable work hours (no shifts past 10pm) Managers always made sure that employees got their breaks. Incentives and training schools. Full-time hours before the holidays.

    Cons

Hours plummet to fewer than 15 hours per week after the holidays and your only way of picking up more is by being on standby for other stores. Lots of carrot dangling for promotions. There are only so many London Drugs locations in one given city, and seeing that the company values loyalty very highly, they will automatically promote someone who has been with the company longer than a newer employee who has more relevant experience for the position. Managers have an entire department's share of gratis shipped from vendors directly to their own private homes and consequently, aren't doled out fairly. Managers can monkey around with commission and prevent you from obtaining yours.

I worked at London Drugs part-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are some nice people to work with. Customers are generally nice to deal with. There is a training course which is nice

    Cons

This is as dead-end as it gets It's hard to have this as a part time job because it's next to impossible to mesh with any other part-time job
