I have been working at Labatt full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent career development opportunities, free beer, and lots of fun perks. The best beer portfolio with the best brands in the world

    Cons

Need to be willing to move around the country to grow in the company beyond the territory manager position. Have to stick handle through head office objectives that interfere with the key objective of actually selling beer

    Advice to Management

Provides Sales Reps & TM's with a clearer understanding of their position in the company, as well as provide them with a timeline of when and how their career will grow. Allow Reps & TM's to sell beer instead of having to deal with nonsensical head office priorities

    I worked at Labatt

    Pros

    - Free Beer ($900 beer card for the year). - Great colleagues, most have good intentions and are not cut throat. - Good location- office oversees the lake.

    Cons

    - Compensation, including bonus is below average for the amount of work you have to do to earn it. - Office space is outdated. If you work in a particular department you will need to take Advil everyday because the noise level is out of control due to how many people are crammed in a small space. - Turn over is high. You won’t meet a person that has been in the same role for more than a year. While some may see this as a pro it’s actually a very big downfall for the company as no one knows what they are doing. When you ask for guidance the most common answer you will get is “I don’t know”. This makes it very hard to get anything done because no one knows anything. Sink or swim environment! - Benefits are average, nothing special to set them apart from other companies. - Do not have the ability to work from home. They say you are able to but it’s not encouraged. - Merit increases are non existent.

I worked at Labatt full-time for less than a year

    Pros

free beer; fast track of career opportunities; young work force

    Cons

High turnover rate; very last minute scheduling and a lot of ambiguity; not a lot of exceptional talent; cheap company (ZBB); inflexibility with mobility

    Advice to Management

Listen and Care for your employees, this will make them stay.

I worked at Labatt full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

-Limited free beer -Good group of coworkers

    Cons

-Unrealistic targets -High employee turnover -worker/manager devided relationships (work against one another) -productivity before safety -Pay is near-minimum wage for very physically demanding work. Opportunity to graduate to in-house forklift training with no pay-raise. The trainers get paid the same as everyone else. -Union reps offer no support and are on the same side as employer. Some serious unethical occurances get overlooked on a regular basis. -worst work/life balance i've ever enountered -work descrimination: some workers are offered priviledged duties on a routine basis, while others are expoited and overworked. -Human resources employee rep works on location and is nothing more than a figurehead. The person filling the role does next to nothing to offer assistance to the ones she is assigned to assist. -they blackmail sick/personal days. Only union workers get 2-3 paid sick days (temps get 0). Even if they need to use one of these days the company deducts a large amount from their quarterly bonus. -culture is gone: maximize profit, minimize costs at all accounts. The warehouse is where they always try to cut every year. -company is set on prescedents, only to remove them when convenient.

    Pros

    - Free Beer (for now) - Mobility

    Cons

    - No focus on the well-being of their employees. They say they it exists but they don't walk their talk - Days are numbered if you're not a GMT, LMT - Contradictory target system - Annual bonuses are a joke

I worked at Labatt full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free beer, great co-workers, opportunity to learn with lots of responsibility at young age. Opportunity to travel for training. If you have to - get in, get your experience and promotion (all anyone cares about), and get out.

    Cons

Work-life balance is sacrificed to achieve unrealistic goals with no resources to do so. Poor salary for the job. Poorly managed company, salaried employees forced to work long hours. Variable compensation was a joke in the last two years. Managers have no experience because it's a revolving door and they got rid of all the older managers. This company used to be so much better until AB InBev took over.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and start promoting work-life balance. Your employee retention and surveys show a huge problem.

I worked at Labatt part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free beer that might be it

    Cons

No room for advancement Poorly managed No recognition for anything Management had no foresight and layoffs can happen day of shift. At first I enjoyed labatts because of the stress free environment...I had to leave because I would never know if I was working the next week and found it too stressful

    Advice to Management

Have an idea what those under you are actually doing. It's unfortunate but Working hard will get you no where and possibly laid off, better hope you have friends or family higher up or expect to be working as a seasonal employee.
