I have been working at Labatt part-time

    Pros

Labatt is a great place to start a career if you're ready to do long hours since a 10-hours shift is a normal day.
If you want to change something (a process, a program, the way we do business) the company is open to it and loves to be challenged.
Many opportunities for people to grow.

    Cons

Costs are tightly controlled, which is good for the company, but sometimes gives the impression that it is cheap and that we can not invest in things that would makes a difference.
    Work-life balance is hard.
People move too quickly and it creates an unstable environment.

    Advice to Management

Invest in better tools for the day-to-day work of your employees.
Keep people in their roles for at least 1 year and a half to 2 years.
Reduce the pressure around VPO / DPO. It's crazy how many time we spent per year to prove we're doing the right thing. It's also a big player in the too-much-bureaucracy-game.

    Pros

Great company to work for, very engaging. Fast pace projects.

    Cons

Unfair pay scale unless you work in the head office or in the production union

    Advice to Management

Review salaries across regions and equalize it

    I worked at Labatt full-time

    Pros

    - Free Beer (for now)
    - Mobility

    Cons

    - No focus on the well-being of their employees. They say they it exists but they don't walk their talk
    - Days are numbered if you're not a GMT, LMT
    - Contradictory target system - Annual bonuses are a joke

I have been working at Labatt full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot fast! Company looks great on a resume.

    Cons

Salary is awful, bonuses never occur, you will not be treated well, you will be criticized if you leave before putting in at least 10 hours per day. There is no such thing as overtime. When you want to take Vacation you are chastised for wanting to take a break.

When you are hired they will tell you a story about how amazing the bonuses are and how that more than makes up for the extraordinarily low salary. Again 5 years of employment and have not seen a bonus yet.

If you are brought into the company and don’t take part in one of the training programs (GMT,LDP,BDP) you will likely never get a promotion.

They also love ... LOVE propaganda constantly communicating and having meetings where they tell you how wonderful everything is and how we should all feel so lucky to be here. Then they proceed to tell you how there will be better odds of a bonus next year and how despite reducing benefits year after that we are still in the 50 percentile.

    Advice to Management

Live by your own ten principles! They are literally amazing but not once have I seen an example of them being practiced only preached.

Treat everyone fairly don’t just give all the advantages to those who participated in the management training programs.

The company says again and again how it wants to be the best beer company in a better world but it’s target for how it treats and compensates its employees is aimed for less than market average.

How can you want to be the best and demand the best from your employees when you as a business don’t target to provide your people with the best of anything? No bonuses, very low salary, take away benefits year after year, provide no work life balance, utilize technology from more than a decade ago, and continue to make personnel cuts pushing more work onto the remaining staff.

I worked at Labatt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free beer, great co-workers, opportunity to learn with lots of responsibility at young age. Opportunity to travel for training. If you have to - get in, get your experience and promotion (all anyone cares about), and get out.

    Cons

Work-life balance is sacrificed to achieve unrealistic goals with no resources to do so. Poor salary for the job. Poorly managed company, salaried employees forced to work long hours. Variable compensation was a joke in the last two years. Managers have no experience because it's a revolving door and they got rid of all the older managers. This company used to be so much better until AB InBev took over.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and start promoting work-life balance. Your employee retention and surveys show a huge problem.

I worked at Labatt part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free beer that might be it

    Cons

    No room for advancement
    Poorly managed
    No recognition for anything
Management had no foresight and layoffs can happen day of shift.

At first I enjoyed labatts because of the stress free environment...I had to leave because I would never know if I was working the next week and found it too stressful

    Advice to Management

Have an idea what those under you are actually doing. It's unfortunate but Working hard will get you no where and possibly laid off, better hope you have friends or family higher up or expect to be working as a seasonal employee.

    Pros

Lots of work, always busy, lots of opportunity to learn.

    Cons

manage plays favourites, sacrifice your own bonus for someone else's, thankless work environment, 24 hours on call, poor upper management only concerned with next role rather then developing current talent
