    Cons

    Not what I Expected

Jul 21, 2022 - Development Coordinator in Toronto, ON

    Pros

Bonus 2 times a year based on your and your groups performance. (June and December). The Total however would be released over a three year period and would stack with the next year Depending on which department you worked in, room for promotions and growth .

    Cons

No formal review process Lack of manager feedback or interest. There would be moments where managers or executives would walk by without bothering to acknowledge that you exist. Very little flexibility for working from home Unwilling to give raises Very formal and Stuffy (Suit and Tie, no compromise) Upper management loved to talk about how their values set them apart yet they didn't practice them with their employees, namely: Respect, Integrity, Trust and Relationships.

Negative reviews seem unfair to me: I don't think those people have much job experience in the real world

    Pros

Very reputable firm in Canadian real estate market Great location in financial core (transportation - walk, TTC, GO) Solid financial holdings Small leadership team Amazing staff (all age ranges and experience, diverse education and industry experience, male: female ratio is almost even) Salary and bonuses (plural): slightly above current market standard, bonuses (twice yearly minimum) Benefits: opportunity to participate / invest in company's funds (and borrow equal amount from company in easy instalments), decent medical benefits for small office size, summer long weekends begin at noon on the Friday before the stat holiday, entire office closes at Christmas (could be an extra week or two depending on how the stat holidays fall - does not count as vacation time) Pleasant working environment (beautiful offices, great views) Great clients and vendors No glass ceiling

    Cons

Very low life insurance benefit (but probably "fair" for small office size) Long hours (month end, quarter end, year end) especially for accounting department Growing pains (rapid growth, lots of new hires): offices are getting really cramped, lack of meeting space

    The Corporate Grind

    May 1, 2017 -

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Competitive salary and bonus - Learning and mentoring opportunities - Convenient location in the financial district - Personal development workshops - Company has outstanding reputation in the real estate sector, looks great on a resume - Days pass by quickly due to the high volume of work and the rapid amount of demands throughout the day

    Cons

    - Unrealistic workload and expectations - High stress - Lack of employees to support the highly dynamic environment and high volume of business activities - Company's infrastructure and business processes have not been able to keep up with the rapid growth in the company's portfolio (ie. outdated software), forcing employees to put in a ton of overtime in order to complete a high volume of work using inefficient processes - Toxic culture, as many of the senior executives are extremely driven, which sometimes manifests in rude behaviour, short tempers and burn out (ie. leaving work early without advising their teams). Many employees regularly expressed their regrets with accepting employment at this company and simply stay due to the compensation
