I worked at Keg Restaurants part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun co-workers, great selection process / assessments

    Cons

I got terminated without reason. Very troubling. Decent managers would help me grow, as an early 20s male. Will forever wonder what happened. Did my look not fit the brand?

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent in communication with young employees. Give them a chance to learn and grow instead of scarring them for a long time

I have been working at Keg Restaurants part-time

    Pros

Love the atmosphere love my manager love coworkers everyone is great for the most part. The job is challenging but so satisfying to do it right.

    Cons

Love the management for the most part, supervisor is not on target with scheduling especially with students vs non students. Random shifts not really looking at the ideal employee for the time. Never leave on time and I, and a lot of my coworkers attend high school. We want to do our best and help out but it gets to be too much. 1:30 am is too late especially if we start at 4:45. Schedule is open ended meaning they give start time only with no end time.

    Advice to Management

Check in with supervisor who does scheduling to ensure there is balance and the availability is stuck to as much as possible. Have shift end times and stand by them.

I have been working at Keg Restaurants part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great scheduling creates a really good work-life balance, I couldn't ask for a better second job. Any position at the Keg will fill those wee hours of the day when you know you would just be watching Netflix otherwise. It's a great place ti socialize and make money at the same time, an opportunity to work hard and improve yourself while still having pretty low stakes

    Cons

The work culture at the Keg between the support staff and the servers makes me sick, having been both, I know it's all BS. Servers are not worth more as people than all the other people working there. It's gross to think otherwise, every person you meet knows something you don't, including the host, and the saute cook and the expo! This toxic dynamic makes bullying pretty commonplace and makes it hard to make meaningful friendships at work.

    Advice to Management

Discourage this weird power dynamic between the servers and everyone else, who is it helping?
Crack down on sexist and racist tendencies at some Keg locations (I've worked at more than one Keg and it really seems to be more about management than about Keg standard policy)

    Advice to Management

Used to be a good management team then it went downhill really fast. Super disappointed.
