I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pay and benefits are by far the best around.

    Cons

I’ve worked in two different facilities and can say without a doubt that upper management/leadership can make or break a working environment! If bullying, favoritism, harassment, and discrimination are not only tolerated but encouraged by administrators then take your high pay and good benefits and give them to those who are ok with that! No thank you.

I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The healthcare for employees and their family is amazing and at no cost to the employee. The pay increases are great as well as vacation, flex days and sick time.

    Cons

As with most large companies, the upper management only care about numbers. It’s always about getting the best numbers on a piece of paper with less employees doing the job.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Amazing coworkers for most part, money is good, shift differentials, double time for holidays, union is a must

    Cons

EXTREMELY difficult to get time off, usually don't approve time off unless top of seniority, difficult to get people to trade/work for you to get time off. Management is terrible, managers are hired into positions they have no experience in. Administration does not have bedside experience and are out of touch. Assistant managers micro-manage all staff and worry about their yearly bonuses. Don't have meetings with upper management without union representation. Focus in on scores and not patient care or safety. Lower level staff float constantly. Hospital is constantly short staffed and staffing office has only 1-2 staffers who know the union float rules. Can't retire until 65yrs old at earliest or must pay out of pocket for insurance. No autonomy for nursing staff.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Amazing physicians to work with in this department.

    Cons

Management, particularly regional and local upper management. I've never met such disingenuous leadership (using that term loosely). Productivity were tantamount to the fact that we are human beings taking care of other human beings who are terminally ill.
