      Pros

Friendly group of FTEs and consultants. People are largely driven by a desire to improve healthcare from the technical side. Pay was good and lots of flexibility for consultants.

      Cons

Leadership/management lacking in people skills resulting in a constant uncomfortably awkward tension. Really apparent at the director level with significant politics/drama.

      Pros

They are very lenient with time off if you have PTO.

      Cons

If you are late 1 minute it counts against you in your yearly review.

      Employee review

      Pros

Great nurses - smart and competent. No nurse to nurse bullying that you commonly see at other hospitals. Physicians seem responsive and work w staff to provide the best care for their patients.

      Cons

Admin has great power. Not true magnet as admin runs the show. Nurses have minimal say in my opinion and nurses are afraid to speak up.

      Disappointing since restructure

      Pros

Coworkers are what pull you through, physicians you work with are collogues, and the last "community-based" hospital

      Cons

Low and non competitive pay, constantly short staffed, PTO and Sick days accrue in the same bank, complicated restructure/hierarchy within the last 5 years that does not benefit anyone but higher ups. I'll refrain from my opinion on how the hospital handled Covid situations and how it effected staff...

      Pros

For what I do I am well compensated. Living in this region of California still means I'm struggling month to month, but I for sure wouldn't be able to survive here without the level of compensation that I received from John Muir.

      Cons

None worth mentioning. People need to stop complaining about good enough situations. I'm not saying there aren't issues here and there at John Muir, but because of the level of compensation I receive, it's certainly not worth mentioning any of them.
