      Pros

The support staff for ESL and Special Ed are incredibly talented and well trained. There is a lot of diversity in staff and I think the professional development for diversity inclusion is needed and helpful.

      Cons

Lack of behavior support created a very hostile classroom environment.

      District Review

      Pros

Good benefits, higher than normal salary, easy place to find a way to make a difference in a kid’s life.

      Cons

All the typical public school requirements that irritate all teachers, plus it’s a district where many of the ‘good’ students go to private schools. It then competes with itself with all the magnate schools, so if you work in just a ‘normal’ JCPS school, your day will be full of students’ behavior issues AND if you’re lucky no one will blame YOU for them.

Lack of district support is palpable

      Oct 12, 2021 - Teacher

      Pros

Decent salary, good benefits, time off

      Cons

District hiring and retention of necessary positions like substitute teachers, bus drivers, and clerks is palpably low which in turn puts extra responsibilities on teachers and admin.
