Favouritism at the workplace.
Apr 27, 2023 - Aircraft Maintenance EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
For flight benefit that become very difficult to use.
Cons
Very toxic environment. And you value is based on favouritism. The YYC shop become heaven for certain employees and nightmare for other because a of management conduct toward employees. management unfairness decreases, in overall moral, because for some employees feels they are effort and contribution are undervalued . Lack of trust indoors trust with an organization, which makes employees lose faith in the fairness of decisions, making process and doubt of credibility of management. This can create toxic work environment where treatment and calibrations are hindered Management focus for certain people which increase a conflict which increased the breed resentment and hostility among employee at the shop in HR supervising everything to justify whatever takes for the management side. Overall, we have so many people quit their jobs and some of them being terminated and they’re union supervision wish they dealt with this situation in arbitrary, discriminatory and bad faith.

High Quality HR Team
May 8, 2023 - Recruitment Lead in Halifax, NSRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Opinions and suggestions of all HR staff are always warmly received and taken into consideration. Management is very professional and fair, creating an environment of positivity and growth. If you work hard and take pride in the quality of your work, it is recognized in many ways. Team work is very real, with everyone stepping up in busy times.
Cons
Can’t think of anything off the top. Maybe open a replacement cafe/restaurant so staff can buy coffee/lunch.

dynamic work place with low pay
Feb 7, 2023 - Customer Service RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
travel benefit - you fly cheap for empty seat. if no seats available, you can't go. dynamic roles and changes rewarding if you know your job
Cons
low pay considering how multi player you have to be. The work can be very tough with delays, cancelation, problems, and communication. you have to be flexible, caring and multi player to do the job with about minimum wage. some bases are very toxic. Some agents specially who worked for a long time have attitude that they know everything and their way is right way. smaller airports are worst. health benefit is so high. it's 50% company and 50% employees which is so high amount every single paycheque. your schedule can be from 3am to 1-2am anytime. for minimum 3 hours to 13.5hours. as part time, seniority is big time for schedule. so not fair.

Just whatever
Mar 14, 2023 - Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Toronto, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
5 on 4 off schedule
Cons
Shitiest pay ever No care is given to workers, so we never receive any bonus and no appreciation from higher ups Mistakes and short comings are highlighted and there is a huge "shittalk" culture that is present especially by certain crew cheif and supervisors They dont have a proper system and attitude to fix issues, they still like to play blame game instead of looking at issues objectively and solve problems. And blame game culture thrives in such progressive times. A lot of people in their 40s have the most garbage attitude, you deal with a few gangsters and egoistic maniacs at work. They dont have a proper OJT system where u can upgrade your skills. They like to run the hangar like a factory The union equally sucks and doesn't do much for thr workers, union reps openly bash fellow union members infront of non union management.

Long Process and no feedback
May 9, 2023 - Cabin Crew in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As an HR person who wanted to changed carrier, with previous experience in Aviation I found it like joke wasting time of Candidates and pushing them to do all the exams as soon as possible and time off from their work and pass all the Medical exams, and you ignore their calls and email, it's very unprofessional. DO NOT COLLECT DATA OF INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT GIVING THEM ANY FEEDBACK> ADVISE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!
Cons
Not recommended, low salary comparing to what was advertised.

Okay, but morale is dropping and wages are stagnating
Mar 28, 2023 - Flight Attendant in Toronto, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Health insurance Travel benefits Flexible schedule once you gain seniority
Cons
Some coworkers were great, but there is a culture of apathy that makes it frustrating for workers who want to treat passengers well and work safely. The wage is a joke compared to the same position at other companies. The regional model is tenuous, your livelihood depends on the survival of two companies: Jazz and AC. Planes are small and cramped, some with no running water to even wash your hands.

Don't come to Halifax
Mar 8, 2023 - Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Halifax, NSRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flight benefits are not bad but remember you are the lowest man on the totem pole a air Canada rampys dog will get on a flight before you
Cons
You are not a human you are a number. The union is meager and weak. Moral is low and you can work at this company 5 years or more and not get a type course. Vacation sucks if you haven't been with the company 25 years and are on the old union agreement. The rrsp matching sucks if your a new hire after 2015. No wonder this place is a revolving door that people hate to come to. There are some good workers but most of the people that stick around end up either disgruntled or an absolute useless employee that doesn't wish to work.
