    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at Jack Astor's full-time

    Pros

Coworkers and management really try to make sure you are apart of their family. Values and promises for employees and employers are really good if everyone upholds and works by them. Training is thorough. Give back to communities through outreach and events (volunteering and fundraising) Atmosphere is fun

    Cons

Availability conflicts It is supposed to be a team based environment and team service but it lacked that in my latter years of working there Favouritism

    Advice to Management

General manager was great and other managers were great. However, recruiting managers who were previous servers and bartenders played favouritism to scheduling and section placement. Do not hire managers from the same location that have established previous relationships and friendships with other employees.

    Server in Toronto, ON

I worked at Jack Astor's for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fun, upbeat workplace - Team spirited with supportive coworkers

    Cons

    - management was very unorganized and didn't seem to communicate clearly between one another, i.e. employees would schedule time off and have it cleared by one manager, only to have another manager later dispute and revoke the already granted request - Management couldn't keep up with high stress of restaurant environment
