I worked at JOEY Restaurants full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent tips due to clientele. Perks like fun shift competitions and prized such as bottles of wine, free meals, etc. Well priced food and drink menu for employees.

    Cons

Too focused on server appearance, cult-like atmosphere, creepy managers. "Top 20" classification creates competitive rather than supportive work environment.

I worked at JOEY Restaurants full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good money Probably the best money you can make working part time around uni Opportunity to work with lots of fun people/meet friends Great way to get business cards, met my future employer serving him after uni

    Cons

Working nights and weekends - not that bad for the money The actual enjoyment all boils down to the people working there (which is set by management) and the management themselves. I have had an average time with an average group and the funnest work environment I have ever had with the right group.

I worked at JOEY Restaurants part-time

    Pros

super flexible since they have so many employees, they spend a lot of time training their staff, servers get hostesses and server assistants to make everything a lot easier (but this also means tip out is higher), there are some sincerely cool people work there, uniforms are entirely given to you which was a huge bonus (minus shoes)

    Cons

management was terrible (not supportive to me during my time there whatsoever at my location, overly superficial, played a lot of favourites, were not kind or genuine human beings), very cliquey environment, the company also ranks of their employees from best to worst on a list visible to all staff and those who are in the bottom percentile don't get shifts or are essentially asked to leave the company (and eventually let go) I have had several serving jobs to get me through school and the environment at Joey was by far the worst of them all
