Tasting the food ;) haha it’s always great being able to sneak some food when no ones looking

I worked at JOEY Restaurants part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can work as a server immediately without having to first work as a hostess (unlike cactus and earls).

    Cons

You do more of the hustle (flipping tables, setting, etc) because there are no hostesses to do things for you. Here, the hostesses are actually guest service managers in a higher position than you, thus they do not help with the dirty work. Also, compared to my friend who worked down the street at Cactus, I seemed to be making less tip money - perhaps because my section was smaller, perhaps because of the guests?

I have been working at JOEY Restaurants part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

An amazing place to learn the basics of a kitchen. There's a lot of turnover in people so I was the "new" person for not very long.

    Cons

A strong sense of culture but often found it difficult to have my shifts covered, or was asked to work on days when I was not available (as per scheduled days)
