    I worked at J D Wetherspoon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you have a good manager and team then it's very enjoyable and you don't really mind working. One manager of mine would always take a "yeah no problem" approach which encouraged me to help him out too.

    Cons

Counter to the above, it can be crap if your manager jumps down your throats all the time ( I worked in 2 bars)
No tips. You're not permitted to accept tips although you rarely get them anyway. I did pocket them when I got them however

    Advice to Management

Lead by putting your team first and trying to accommodate their needs, rather than not listening to them and having everyone quit.

    Pros

Flexible job whist studying at college and university. The pay was good and the discount on food was useful whilst working. Most people I worked with were friendly and good co-workers.

    Cons

The male boss at the time was a misogynist and not a great person to work with. Men would get more hours than women. This needs overseeing.

    Advice to Management

Oversee hours are being divided fairly and get anonymous feedback from bar staff about how they find their place of work.

    I worked at J D Wetherspoon full-time

    Pros

There are never a shortage of good people to work with.

    Cons

The company it self is awful to work for, they still do 0 hour contracts and mess you around. With unsociable hours, and short notice shift changes it was not ideal.

    Advice to Management

Don't pay bad managers more than the area managers, it makes you close down pubs. Good ones as well. Also stop plastering the place with pro-brexit paraphernalia. It's tacky
