I have been working at Itsu full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some of the staff are really friendly and helpful Weekly wages and free food. If you would like to move up the ITSU ladder you will be able to. Family atmosphere Staff parties.

    Cons

Long 12/13 FOH shifts, If you are moved to the Kitchen you will have no training but be expected to know what you are doing straight away. Lots of pseudo pressure from managers, they put a lot of pressure for you to preform to extremely high unrealistic targets. A lot of people have been in the company for a vey long time and tend to forget that when you start things that seem obvious to them are not obvious to you. High work load for few staff. Little work/life balance as rota is never published on time and hours on the rota change a lot.

I worked at Itsu full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free mini-breakfast every morning. The lunch-break is paid. If you do the morning shift, you get to finish early. Good opportunities for progression and becoming team leaders or managers for those who are interested.

    Cons

Working here is like working at a factory. There is a lot of pressure and everything has to be fast and efficient, with team leaders and managers constantly telling you that you're not fast enough or not trying hard enough, even when you are giving it your all. During my training in the first week, one day I was told that my lunch break will only be 10min today, because I "didn't do a good enough job to deserve the full break". From my experience, you will not always be treated with respect. You are expected to learn to do every role in the kitchen and there are a lot of rules to remember at first, which can be overwhelming. As with any service industry job, you almost never get to finish when you're scheduled to finish. Expect to do overtime.

I worked at Itsu for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free staff meal, easy to transfer to another shop

    Cons

Way too many changes every month then those changes are changing, general managers are no help at all, rota changes the day before or not available until last minute, too often asked to stay hours longer or sent home just after few hours, hard working staff is not appreciated enough therefore high turnover, managers get no paid overtime and often have to work instead of the staff members, standards are too high with not enough staff which creates a lot of pressure.

    Team Leader

I have been working at Itsu

    Pros

Easy to grow the first step until pro Free meal during shift Staff meetings, friday night drinks, parties

    Cons

Lots of pressure in the kitchen No breaks fully taken most of the time Extremly high ridiculus standars that make imposible the productivity and the speed they demand Tendency to use people from some managers making fake promises of growing just to make sure they get their bonuses. Basically they make you work for free when you are in training for a Team Leader position because the hours scheduled in your rota are never enough and the allowance doesnt let them pay "over hours" They can put you in the rota as they want, without days off or just one. You can even work more than one week in a row and they will not ask you if that is fine for you. The Team work is imposible when you are under a authoritatian manager

Hi, Thanks for leaving us feedback and for long service you have given itsu. We are glad you feel there is a possibility to grow at itsu, the majority of our management/head office started as Team Members in our shops. We understand it can be fast paced work in the shop due to the pressure to deliver beautiful food to our customers and we do offer competitive pay alongside mystery shopper bonus, free lunch on shift, 50% discount across all of our stores, weekly pay, paid breaks, 28 days holiday. In addition every time we receive amazing feedback from one of our customers about the love and care they received from a Team Member, we award them with a beautiful bespoke silver Tiffany & Co. butterfly! We do appreciate there can be pressure at times and if this is still a concern we would advise you speak to your Area People Manager as they are there to support you and provide any advice you may need We will take your feedback on board Thank you!
