Pros
Depending on your department, you're able to travel all over the country to races and be on-site. Everyone that does hands-on work is great to work with. If you're looking to gain a lot of experience quickly, then this is a good place because most teams are understaffed, giving opportunities for you to do more than you would elsewhere.
Cons
Senior management and executives are so far removed from the people that put in the actual work, but they pretend they understand. As an employee, you end up doing the job of 3 people because they are so understaffed, but your pay does not change. There's unrealistic expectations, no work life balance, no one knows how to time manage, and there's a ripple effect when someone doesn't complete their work on time. The company hires people to do a job, and they don't care about career growth.

Pros
There are sprinkles of leaders that actually care about the company and you as a professional. Sadly those leaders are either fired or leave.
Cons
C-Suite only cares about flipping the company again and again to line their pockets.

Get rid of senior management
Dec. 13, 2022 - Regional Marketing Manager in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Teams work really well together. This helped form a strong community culture internally.
Cons
Then comes senior leadership. Namely the C-Suite. They are awful. The CRO should be ashamed. Setting unrealistic goals, forcing employees to work every waking hour, including weekends and nights. The leadership really knows how to take a culture and set it on fire. During COVID, when all employees were forced to take a substantial pay cut, there was 0 empathy for what we were going through. We were already grossly underpaid, far below market value, so the added salt in the wound was tough. Then to have senior leadership show no compassion but instead pressed employees harder, seemingly to get more output for less money. The HR VP has her hands tied behind her back with no real authority to actually help employees. When I left, she simply said, “I understand.” Everyone knows what the problem is, but everyone is scared of him. Imagine coming to work scared of a member of leadership because of their dictatorial demeanor. No thank you. you.

Lack of compassionate leadership with no accountability
Jan. 4, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Travel, the athletes who do the races are truly amazing, the people you work day to day with are mostly great people. If you don’t have a helicopter boss, you may survive.
Cons
The leadership. Some of the most overpaid, lackluster leadership I’ve ever seen at a company. Not only do they ask you to go above and beyond, but when you do, you won’t get hardly any recognition for it. If all you’re looking for is a pay increase as a thank you, good luck. The pay here is atrocious and they only do increases on the year. 3% if you aren’t in the leadership group. On top of that, you will continually be asked to do things that make no sense from the customer’s perspective. There’s almost zero attention given to what the athlete base wants and 99% attention to what will bring in more dollars. Registration numbers could be dwindling with hundreds of surveys telling you why, but they will ignore those through and through because “they always complain about that”. Have a suggestion to improve? They might answer it on their remote town hall with moderators. They also might ignore it because it isn’t a question they want to address. This problem is more apparent the higher in the chain you go. The executives are out of touch with the day to day operations, so when you see them actually hands on and helping, it’s one time of year when all eyes are on them and they know it. Amazing, they work hard 1 day while everyone else slaves away all year, they take a bonus at the end, and you are told the company “didn’t perform well” so here’s 3% and we can’t pay any bonus. Lastly, employee surveys. Rate your department or the company bad, they will know who you are and punish you for it. Anonymously of course, because they are anonymous surveys so how could they know what wrote what answer… It’s a joke in almost every department that company surveys are a way to figure out who to fire. So if you value your opinion and want to have it actually taken, better not offer that opinion in an employee survey. They will push you out just to make them look better.

Pros
Huge pride in what they do, exciting travel, different every day
Cons
low pay, burn out, travel fatigue, never enough

Pros
Competitive salary Tight-knit teams Ambitious vision for products
Cons
Leadership sets goals that have no basis in reality. Frequently we would do forecasting based on market trends and historical data and they'd go in and completely change numbers based on what they wanted and not what was actually feasible. The result is that teams can overperform based on realistic goals but be considered failures and let go because they didn't hit numbers that were never going to be hit.

Complete mess
Feb. 2, 2023 - Full Stack Web Developer in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pay is decent, it's stable.
Cons
Profit over people. Terrible culture. If you're obsessed with running you might like it. They don't hire, and you take on more and more responsibility.

Pros
Best company to introduce yourself into the sport events industry. You will work alongside really qualified peers, learn a lot on how to manage stressfull situations, and prioritizing due to the high volume of workload you will face.
Cons
There aren't that many people working inside the company for the amount of workload, deadlines are really tight, and the company fails to incentive creativity due to this big con. Moreover, being employed in this company is not meant for everyone. You must be comfortable on traveling a lot and having to work on the weekends, with the opportunity to take those compensation days when the season ends. This can burn-out many people.
