I have been working at IKEA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people are great, the pay is not too shabby. Benefits are awesome.

    Cons

Upper management is dicey. Favoritism and office politics are garbage. Work-Life balance is a joke. Uniform is atrocious.

I have been working at IKEA full-time

    Pros

Minimum wage went up so thank you government! Free fruit sometimes. Maybe some room for growth but unlikely because they'd rather hire people from outside than promote within.

    Cons

First of all, dear steering and HR at CDC IKEA please stop flagging and having reviews deleted because you have a distorted version of what's actually going on in the warehouse. You know you're in trouble when half your staff walks over to the BMW warehouse next door and apply for jobs (some were offered jobs on the spot). The steering people are a joke and the lady who runs the whole show is compelety clueless. Shipments are delayed by weeks because they're so behind and constantly asking your coworkers to stay for overtime isn't good work life balance (which they highly promote apparently). Upper management enjoys favouritism and will try to send "spies" to do their dirty work so be careful who you open up to.

I worked at IKEA part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The benefits were higher than the norms we have in Quebec, not many hours during the year so perfect if you are a student. Almost full time shifts during the summer. Perfect to put money on the side for your tuition. Salary cap after 3 years.

    Cons

Must work 3 weekends out of 4, if they call you in on your weekend off you lose it but of course they don't tell you that. Must run left and right during the non summer season to get hours. The average will be 10-15 per week even with high seniority. Management does not like innovative ideas until a client starts complaining about said issue very strongly. Employees are not allowed to think for themselves. On several occasion upper management has been disrespectful.

    "Poor upper management"

    I worked at IKEA

    Pros

Strong culture, great co-workers, 15% discount, free uniforms. The part time co-workers doing the hard work were amazing and dedicated even without support from management

    Cons

Poor upper management, weak steering team, high turnover, weak business focus, little promotion from within

I worked at IKEA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

One thing that's for sure a big pro, are their benefits for sure!Especially medical and dental. Most co-workers there treat each other respectfully and kindly, and to some extent, like family.

    Cons

Upper management, and even some leaders there, I feel like didn't appreciate their workers enough. The pay was decent and hours a little less so (depending on the department, in this case, the logistics department). Trying to get extra hours was difficult. This is more of a job for those who are going into retirement to pass time or for college students who want to make some extra cash, this job isn't really for anyone who's trying to live off making money here, the pay just isn't enough.

I worked at IKEA part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun diverse group of coworkers, amazing affordable health insurance for whole family

    Cons

Favoritism, extremely poor management, little direction or guidance yet micromanaged through point system, communication was a joke on every level- upper management, management and employees- policies and procedures always shifting.
