    Pros

    Generous discount, great health benefits, get to work around some beautiful product

    Cons

    Extremely competitive, no work/life balance, very high turnover of management at every level, extremely poor payment structure for non-sales staff, little room for growth. I'm sure it's a much better place to work if you're in sales, otherwise you are paid minimum wage in a very stressful environment. Moved as high up as I could, had all the responsibilities and of management but was not treated as such. Support (non-sales) staff were viewed as second-class to sales, and made so little money I couldn't afford to work there any longer. The 1% raise in my last year was the straw that broke the camel's back. Very toxic work environment with obvious favoritism and unclear direction from executive management at store level and head office.

    Over 175 years of history Public Support: Great Canadian brand which many well-heeled Canadians want to see succeed Very central Toronto location

    Cons

    Tumultuous -- high turnover in the senior ranks which accelerated with new Pres in 2016, bringing low morale and a sense of "too little, too late." Too much "artful" decision in the merchandising/assortment/buying ranks, making rather than fact or analytically based choices Not really dealing with the shrinking customer base -- going too far upmarket and thereby becoming irrelevant and unreachable to many prior customers and potential new ones. Commission model for sales associates breeds discriminatory behaviour that turns off customers and creates disjointed customer experience.
