      Pros

Has well-established product management and product design processes. Get the space and resources to properly research new product and feature ideas, talk to customers. Extremely positive working environment - no politics, exceptionally friendly people across all departments. Founders who genuinely care about more than cents and dollars.

      Cons

Standard scale-up growing pains, nothing significant.

      Cons

While there are amazing perks, compensation I believe could be higher across the board.

      Good people, questionable business

      Aug 17, 2022 - Account Manager/Customer Success
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Strong learning and development focus with weekly trainings and feedback in 1:1s - Great opportunity to gain experience in CS/ SaaS - Friendly co-workers, lots of team events, transparency into other departments - Excellent inclusivity and diversity focus, unlimited sick days and support for working parents is incredible - Rapidly expanding company, great opportunity for lateral/upward movement - Rewarding business purpose in a challenging education sector. Customers are very passionate about their businesses and the role has a chance to contribute positively to their success.

      Cons

      - Quota and output driven role, no focus on customer satisfaction or adding value without expanding revenue. Quotas are unrealistically high. Role is confused about being in Customer Success or Sales. Everything you do is measured, including periodic reporting to account for bathroom breaks. - Direct management are over capacity with reports and unable to provide adequate support, or advocacy for their team. - Compensation is below par for the role and industry; this tends to attract a lot of 'first job in tech' folks and turnover is high. Not many tenured team members. - Lots of 'questionable' Sales promotions or deals are driven through to over-represent revenue. Account Managers spend a lot of time managing ridiculous discount deals made at POS. - Team members are encouraged to pressure customers, often owner/operators, into unethical expansion deals. - Customer churn, particularly price cutting by competitors, is out of control.

This practice is strongly encouraged and built into the day-to-day life at HiMama

      Cons

Startup life can require a lot of change management as new systems and procedures and introduced and tested.

      Pros

-employees are valued; there is a job to get done but the managers always make sure to check in with you as a person rather than just an employee -if you work hard and get the job done, you will be rewarded; employees are held to a high standard -great benefits, time off, flexible schedules -virtual and in person socials, work from home or in office -a friendly non-toxic environment -visibility into the companies performance and future plans for all employees

      Cons

-still a startup; sometimes you have to create the document to record a new process if it doesn’t already exist -rapidly evolving; sometimes we have to react and pivot which can be challenging at every employee level

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The employees genuinely care about each other and are super selfless The CEO is a marvellous human being

      Cons

At the start of 2022, new leadership was put in place and they are brutal to say the least. They do not care about making their reps money. They blindly follow whatever they did at Top Hat and they brought that over to Himama and do not care about their reps at all. Oh yeah, there is a ton of nepotism at play at here. Every VP on the rev side of things is basically from Top Hat, it's ruined our culture. Reps used to make money here, you should see what reps get paid since new leadership took over, it's an absolute joke. That's why 80% of experienced AEs (with more than 3 years of experience) has left this organization, and more of their best will leave soon too you can bank on that. You're making minimum wage with the new comp plans. You want transparency? You won't get any here. You ask a question to a leader in the sales org - they always give you a fake, positive response. They are building a culture built in toxic, positivity. Don't believe me? Trust me, I'm not a disgruntled former employee. I chose to leave because of everything that has occurred. I just want to make sure you see this before deciding if himama is a fit for you. Try it for yourself. Just remember - I warned you.
